Apparently this is a done deal and at the end of the season there should be a press release. Barcia as been on a Honda since the first time I saw him on 80's years ago. How do you think he will adapt to the Yamaha? How much is Factory Yamaha involved?

Don't know that I know of a rider/team relationship that's soured as quickly as Barcia and Honda. This seems like a hasty move to me, but I guess a guy has to get paid while he can.

Good question. Sucks that Josh and Justin are out, but it will be cool to see how Phil and Vince do.

If it means I get to see him ride a JGR YZ250 on his track for fun, then I'm all for the move

I think he will do about the same as he did on the Honda. Barcia is a 3rd place guy like RD, unless one of the front runners has problems.

for the top 5 guys it is 95% mental attitude so he can win if he wants it that bad, same as #5 and #94. All the bikes are great so
bottom line is settle for second or be a champion. Look at how a great attitude Reed had this year and was kicking but.

So is this supposedly going to be announced at the end of the supercross season or at the end of the year '14 ?

Really?

He's been a Honda factory kid since 85s. Seems like a pretty long lasting relationship to me.

Just heard from a reliable source on the internet that the Barcia - JGR Yamaha relationship has already soured.Sick

He's signing with KTM and replacing Roczen in a move that will have him off of Honda onto a Yamaha and off to KTM before any real press release has been sent out to anybody.WoohooWoohoo

IMO: Whether is the bike or not, Honda expects results. They might accommodate for a year or two, but eventually all relationships like that will sour. Best for Barcia to jump ship before it becomes too toxic for him & Honda.

Bet he will get along good with the Yamaha. Seems like bike is sorted out & it's working really well. Some of the things Brayton has displayed with power, traction & handling have been really impressive.

Hey wait a minute. Is this the same forward canting engine that was a major design flaw a while back? What happened?

They made serious changes to the geometry, try to keep up ok?
As for the forward slanting engine, check back in 5 or 6 more years when it's long enough they can abandon it without too much embarrassment and while still saving face. If it's still around at that point, they will have worked out the kinks.

Agreed. Not sure what the deal is with the factory Honda these past two seasons, but it seems the majority of guys that have ridden it (Reed, Barcia and Tomac) have had more than a few issues getting it set up. It's a shame Honda is going to lose a rider they've had since he was on minibikes.
