I was watching Moto 3 with the 'ol lady the other night and the dude from Dream Traxx was talking about Barcia's track and she asked me how much does that cost?

I don't know, but would be curious how much Barcia just dropped on that. How much would it cost to build Stewarts tracks?

So how much do these guys spend? Everything included, bringing the dirt in and all.

I would guess close to 50k per track if you hire someone to bring in equipment and build it for you.

i used to hear the supercross tracks are $30,000 at the test tracks in socal and maintenance is around $5,000 so i couldn't imagine what the big outdoor tracks these guys get, cost....pretty awesome look to them, though.

I was guessing that Barcia's setup was close to 100k. But I have no idea.

In this months RacerX, Zach Osbourne said it cost $30,000 a year to maintain a track/tracks.

I don't do my brother's billing, but I'd say they range from 10k to 100k, just depends on what you want...also there are watering systems, monthly maintenance or twice a year etc.

They will all be different depending on the dirt on the property. Sandy clay is much easier to work with than rocky clay.

A local guy had Barnett build him a track here in bama. It's an outdoor track and no it's not national caliber but it's probably 1 mile long. He said it cost him 15K to have Barnet build it. They didn't haul in any dirt, just used what was there. I'm sure this is nowhere what the top guys pay but Barnett does build some of their tracks correct?

This was just Barnett flat rate. The guy rented the equipment for Barnett to use.

I guess I was kinda picturing JB17, JS7 and Poto's tracks, ya know, top guys. They seem flat, I don't think there was many trees to pull out, but who knows?

According to MXvsATV, JS7 has two sx tracks and a mx track, it looks like more than that in that one heli shoot video at his place.
From what I could see, it looked like barcia had a sx track and a mx track.
From the google earth images, Reed has pretty badass setup as well, which was not all built at once.

I now there are all kinds of variables, I wonder what was the most ONE OF THE TOP guys paid.

I'm not talking about maintence either, just how much would Dream Traxx charge me to come build an exact replica of the Stewart compund. No tree pulling required. 100k, 1mil, 50 bucks and a sackajaweea?

I thought someone would have some figures on what these top dudes have paid for their tracks,

I see where I did say, 'everything included', but I kinda meant just included in the initial build of the track.

Smoker sometimes the elite get good deals on tracks also. They promote the track builder, which works for both parties.

gotcha, makes senes. I just figured they all were sitting on 100k tracks.

One of the links in this thread was for a euro company, they were saying under 10k, less than a new 450. I guess it's not as much as I thought.

Its been close to 15 years now, but when I was in high school and living in VT a few of us went in on a dozer rental. We had to take out a lot of trees, got all the dirt off the site. We didnt have more than 3K in it with rental and fuel. Took about a month from start to finish. Then we would just rent a bobcat 3 or 4 weekends a year for prep. I wish I had a chunk of land now. I would build another in a heart beat.

When Kiedrowski built the sx track in his front yard back in 95 it cost $50k..He said he had all the top soil trucked in so that was why it cost so much back then.

Add stadium lights so you can practice under "race" conditions and you're REALLY looking at a grip...
