I haven't bought a "new" bike from a dealer in close to 10 years. I quit riding for a few years. But anyways would like to buy a 2015 YZF250 or KXF250. I now know what to expect a dealer to tell me they want ($7,500) but what did some of you seriously pay?
You know it takes that minimum wage guy in the back a full 40 hour week to bolt the front wheel and handlebars on. And that freight, well they had to pay it. See, here's a freight invoice.
Count yourselves lucky and support your local dealer !
The Shop
He sells all of the major brands.
PM me and I can get you some quotes and put you in touch with him.
Depending on what you want, if you wait for the 2016 models to start coming out you can probably get a pretty good deal on a 2015 model.
I also had a regular KTM450 2015 for $9000 otd in Illinois lined up at the same time.
Got a 13 yz450 in July of 13 for 6200 OTD in Ohio. There are deals. Some large volume dealers can offload for a crazy price. My local shop gave me the blessing because they couldn't touch it. All my after markets came from my local shop.
However if you got a great small shop with an excellent relationship just go there and know you're money is helping the shop and the sport if it's pretty close to some other high volume dealer. For example my local guy couldn't get me below 7300 out the door. And I wanted a pipe and a tuner and some other stuff. Bought the bike for 6200 and used the difference to buy the pipe and tuner. So now I have into a bike with a few after markets for what I was going to pay OTD for a stocker. And my shop got $1100 out of it through after markets.
Pretty sure my buddy just got a 15 yz250f last November for 6200 OTD from Honda east in Toledo, Ohio. Plus a $500 blucru card from yamaha 6 weeks after the purchase.

There's a couple on Ebay right now and it's going to save you a bunch of money in the long run.
