He's so smooth and a great rider, but seems to fade at the end of the races,
crashes to much, and gives up a lot.
With someone like Aldon working with Josh he would be a podium threat.

I don't know Josh's personal traits, but someone who "gives up a lot" doesn't seem like the type that would get much from aldon

Not sure Josh and Aldon would be a good fit. I think the two things Josh needs is a good bike and to stay healthy.

That would not end well. There is the easy way and the hard way and 33 has always stayed the course.

I am good friends with Aldon and have a ton of respect and am a big fan of JG. Im not sure its a good fit but I sure would love to see it happen too! Aldon is a spendy dude though....Nordstroms of moto, even RD had a hard time swallowing his fees a while back....but then he saw the light...you get what you pay for!!

1. would never happen.
2. is this a real question? JG/Aldon Baker? No.
3. has he ever even shown he can stay off the ground? not even in his rookie races
4. aldon would make Josh Grant cry.
5.would aldon even give a "Josh Grant" a chance? No way in hell.
6.btw, is this the same "danster" with all the canadian moto "hooks" etc etc...?

It would be a good fit. Anybody is lucky to train with Aldon. He is the cream of the crop and pushes careers to the next level if the rider will allow him to.

How much has Aldon helped AC? How do you help someone who gets hurt all the time?

About as good as he is now, Aldon doesn't turn the throttle.

How did Jake Wiemer do? Tyla Rattray? Anderson? Ciancirillo?

Aldon Baker, turning champions into champions.

Charlie Mullins beat him to it. That's heavy statement for an off road guy.

Completely different rider.

As a JG33 fan I'd like to see Aldon or some other trainer work with him.

Aldon Baker's claim to fame is taking championship caliber racers to the next mental & physical level...and Josh Grant isn't a championship caliber rider, in my opinion. Guys like RC, RV & Dungey had tremendous work ethics & determination already, and Baker just tweaked that. I see Grant as being way too laid back & casual for Aldon's routine.

Josh Grant needs Tony Alessi...

Lol

I think a guy like Randy Lawrence would do him good. Someone he could have fun with but also work hard with

hes a good rider. but its not like there has been anyone who did not benefit from working with him. i look at it the same way with Mike alessi. Sure what you do is good, but it hasnt really worked that well since they havent won many races or titles. Both guys have been here for ten years trying hard in the 450 class. In some cases like these guys perhaps the best option is either a change of scenery or bike.

Look at guys like Ryan Hughes and Mike Brown. Both had many ups and downs in their careers, Rynos obviously plagued by injuries, but the both went from 125 to 250 to 125 to GP's back to 125's then 450's then WORCS.

Assuming Grant had the funds, it would be a good investment especially at this stage where he needs to either revitalize his career or look at an exit strategy. Grant obviously still has the speed and talent proven by his performance at the USGP. what ever pushed him to the front this weekend he needs to repeat

A top trainer & a top team mate can be as efficient I guess. Also, for any riders, I think the base salary must be ridiculously low, then completed with a complex scheme of bonuses:
i.e. cardio base
i.e. cardio improvement
i.e. miles on the bicycle
i.e. miles improvement on the bicycle
i.e. qualification times
i.e. qualification improvement
i.e. starting time
i.e. starting time improvement
i.e. starting position
i.e. starting position improvement
i.e. hours of testing
i.e. hours of training
i.e. average lap times deviation vs. best lap times
i.e. average lap times deviation vs. best lap times improvement
etc

I think the elite riders must get their life simplified at the maximum to focus on the result only. A tough scheme would help them to see the light and what they are expected to do at what time and how. That is also a good way to get confidence.

Aldon can't help the ones that don't help themselves. It's really a kind of opportunity meets preparation thing. Think about RC JS RV and now RD. They were all already on the path of greatness. Then they got with Aldon and he help thrust them maybe even higher than they may have been able to go on their own. But they were going to be legends anyway.....
When Aldon turns someone like Jason Lawrence into a multi time champ, someone who wasn't already going to be great anyway, then I'll drink the Aldon koolaid also.
