On average less than 6 riders have scored points in every round in SX (5.7)
A little over 8 riders scored points in all but one round (8.1)
In 2017 11 riders have scored points in every round thus far.
I am betting that will go down to 7 for 2017.

And yes TannerMxer the point is attrition.
So the next logical conclusion to someone who isn't racing for the championship would perhaps be advice:
Just score points in each round and you will finish in the top 10. i.e. don't push to get 12 vs 11th.
I haven't done the historical math completely on this yet but if you look at 2016 as an example the top 5 riders scored points in each round. Of the remaining top 10 Brayton and Weimer scored in each round.
Seeley Musquin and Canard were the other 3 in the top 10 who didn't score in each round.
Alessi finished 12th scoring in each round.
