How many Frenchies have won their first SX or National that they've entered?

Tortelli did in a surprise performance (1998 LA Supercross) and his first national at Glen Helen. Not sure who else.

LA SX in 98 was not Tortelli's first AMA supercross. But you're right about GH in 99.

Pichon, San Diego 1993(?)

(Edit: No, I thought it was his first, but the vault says he was at the first two rounds)

Dont know about the French but I know a washed up old Australian who fell off a plane in the US and won the first 125 SX he entered and subsequently the championship. Following year won the first 250 SX he entered.

He then went on to fluke 2 SX championships only because RC/JS were injured and amass 44 wins and counting only because a rider fell or the stars/planets aligned.

I'm going off of memory but you might want to check your facts gerg. I don't think that Australian won his first 250 SX he entered. I remember him with a few top 5 and 7 place rides before he went 250 full time. But I could be wrong.

Reed did not win his first 250 SX he entered,he actually raced 4 west coast 250 races while competing in 2002 125 east SX. He did take a 5th,6th,8th and 18th place finishes though before winninig the 03 opening round. He rode a round or two in 99 125 sx that most people don't remember so he actually didn't win his first 125 SX either. Still one of the all time greats though.

Happy to eat a little humble pie after my out and out statement haha thanks guys.

Over here in Aus we really had little to no visibility of Chads career anything before 2008...and that was ONLY because of the llkes of slicknic torrecns available and our crapyy internet infrastructure starting to be viable to download them.

It's a shame that such a successful sportsman pretty much doing what no Australian has ever been able to do before and that is be successful in the US. I dont know what it is about MX and SX over that it has no profile.

Not a mention anywhere in the mainstream media over here re his last win but I'm happy to ride out the twilight of his career with him while he carries that underdog tag.

Grant Langston won the first Outdoor he entered on his Red Bull KTM in 2001. And he won the following National too. Great performance !

Chad had raced a couple of supercrosses in 1998 or 99 on a RM125

I'm talking about the AMA series which 2003 was his first year.

He won the first race:

I honestly have no idea if he did any "part time" AMA 250SX stuff prior to that would be interested to know.
he also raced some 250 events part time in 2002, before the east coast started
