How about KTM 300cc series instead of KTM Juniors?

Alternate venues with the Juniors? Whatever it takes as long as we get two strokes 125cc or larger back into SX program.

I love the idea of the little kids riding and all, but let them ride on a Friday or something before the whoops are built and they could make them a couple special jumps. For us folks that follow the series, the ktm challange has been played out long ago. Need something different, maybe a women's race or 2-stroke invitational or amateur open. Or a KTM mini(105cc) championship race like the Yamaha ROC years ago.

From what I see people who aren't core fans love the kids on the 50's. Especially women.

I would love to see them do a super mini series. Or just let the super minis ride instead of the 50s.

KTM kids roll around the course. Guys on 300s not so much. Where do we find the sacrificial lambs necessary for this?

The RC Amateur SX was a very VERY watered-down version of the Daytona SX course.

In short, not just no, but HELL no.

I am not suggesting amateurs for 300cc cannon fodder. The problem with this concept is availability of qualified riders? Maybe at an Indy Detroit or Atlanta but not any of the west coast venues.

For the record I love the KTM Juniors.

We just did the KJSC this year and after walking that track there is no way they could go with the liability of anyone else on there. Stupid gnarly, anything bigger than 50s and someone will attempt to start jumping stuff. I am sure they don't want that. Besides the KJSC is the future of the sport they are out there for 10 minutes. I dont see why anyone has an issue with it. If you are involved with it at some point you appreciate it more that's for sure.

I have a hard time understanding how we're going to see safer nights at the races planting on 300 smokers guys who can't qualify for a regular SX class and aren't good enough to already have support from someone that would contractually preclude them from doing something with KTM, and probably looking at it as a nothing to lose opportunity for attention.

What could go wrong with putting amped up less skilled guys on bikes more challenging to ride on the same tracks that peel off far mor skilled riders.

That is so true. Whenever we take newbies to a SX after 10 minutes of seeing the best riders in America floating through the air they are yawning and making trips to the snack bar. But when the kids come out they are jumping up and down yelling n screaming

Does KTM even have a 300 2-stroke that they market for SX/MX?

It seems like a horrible idea at first blush, but the ensuing carnage would probably put butts in seats so maybe it's genius? Hopefully Feld doesn't read this . . .

The idea is good, but it doesn't attract enbough riders. The EMX 300 series here in Europe is had less than 20 people at the gate last year

The 300 is a bit too big for the 5 year olds Laughing
Agree, but it it actually for 7 to 9 year olds if my memory . Still a 300 would be a bit too much for them.

The JR-SX is about "The Riders of Tomorrow"...and serves a very specific purpose and demo's.

I'd like to see 125's...until the Carnage, then...Not So Much.

After the Carnage of the Super-Minis at The Monster Cup...I'd be commenting like GuyB.

I was at the first US Open of Supercross at the MGM Garden Arena. The guys on 80's were crashing all over the track, and getting hurt bad. I was praying they would just stop the race.

I hold my breath every time the superminis are on at Monster cup. Afraid that we are going to see a kid die on live TV...

Heck, they're only 50cc bigger than the bikes their parents will strapping them onto next season, right?

Yeah, but there was some carnage. I don't think the tracks are set up for the Supermini's. You gotta remember, we're talking about 112cc minbikes making more horsepower than a stock YZ125 being raced by 13 and 14 year old kids.
