Hello, as the title implies i am wondering about the production year of my friends CR250.
I bought a -06 cr250 yesterday and he got pier pressure so we drove a couple of hours to pick up another -06 according to the seller.
I was pretty tired at the time and didnt pay any attention to the VIN numbers on the frame and engine, i just expected the seller to be straight forward.
When we got home i noticed the different numbers on our frames and something in the back of my head told me that this isnt right.
I googled and looked at several forum posts about this but it still left me guessing, so im hoping that some of you could help me settle this so we know if my friend got ripped off.
This is the numbers on his frame, according to some of you here its all about the tenth number, and thats a number 2.
This is my frame and i am 99% sure that its an -06, i bought it after it had been sitting in a garage since -09 or something, it only has 30 hours on it in total.
My tenth number is a 6, thats what got me worried.
This is my first post on vital so i hope it works as it should.

Not a big deal
Lol
The Shop
My favorites are:
-A large water puddle around the bike with wet plastic, indicating that the bike only looks clean when soaking wet
-terms and phrases such as "motor professionally gone thru" and "oil changed every ride"
-guys who post with a lot of attitude. For example "price is 3500 I don't have time for low ballers, this bike is pristine and if you don't have the serious cash, hit the road, don't even bother"
-and then, of course, the mislabeling like your friend ran into. It could be the wrong year, sometimes it's the wrong bike entirely.
Sucks man.
Just to clarify, the bike wasnt out on craigslist or whatnot, he posted on facebook looking for a -05/-07 cr250, and this guy inboxed him saying he's got a -06 that he uses for enduro.
He got like 2 pictures from 6 months ago and decided to take a gamble on it, the bike looked like shit when we got there but after driving for 5 hours we didn't want to go home emptyhanded.
I bought mine earlier that day and i thought my friend was going to be as thurough as i was, he didn't pay attention to the details and that sucks for him.
Thats his bike in the backround, the only thing positive was that the pipe was in great condition.
Yes my graphics look like shit thank you.
