Not sure if those are for sale or not, but what kind of cam chain tensioner is that.

wow. the new OEM part is ~$200.

i few years ago, i had a very close look at Dungeys MXDN rmz450; that ignition cover was cast from magnesium alloy, as were so many parts on the bike, such as master cylinders, hubs etc.

yes, the factory bikes all run manual cam chain tensioner vs self adjusting stock.....you can buy the billet manual adjuster from aftermarket.

interesting thing about all factory RMZ450s, they all have a different oil filter case and waterpump setup than stock

cool clutch cable bracket.

the engine headstay mounts and front crankcase mounts look OEM....Dungeys RMZ had ones made from really thick billet

I was going to say the same thing, Applied has made the Suzuki ign covers for a few years now and Pro Circuit makes them for the KX250F. The RM-Z250F is the only one that is really needed IMO.
i may get hung out for this, but i dont think the Hinson product line is very innovative, but then again maybe it doesnt need to be?

the rekluse stuff is really innovative though, their constant radius inner hub and laser cut steels are sooooo cool, as is their idea to run thinner plates and use an extra fiber is cool too. I wonder if all the OEMs put an extra fiber in their clutches, they would be a lot less problematic.

I think it is funny, tons of people look at Suzuki and say they are behind the times and haven't updated there bike etc. It all starts with the frame and if that works well, what does it matter? It's still an unbelievably good bike, just a new plastic update and your good to go.

yep, but they claim it is pre tensioned. not sure i understand, LOL. the stock one was fine on my rmz!

"Most bikes come with automatic cam chain tensioners which are spring loaded ratcheting devices. The problem with this is that as the chain stretches over time the ratchet will potentially overtighten the chain. This causes a decrease in horsepower, performance, and cam chain life. TD's Manual Cam Chain Tensioner is not a ratcheting device. It comes preset with the proper amount of force needed to tension the chain correctly and it will not move. By pre-loading the cam chain guide correctly you will typically see a gain throughout the RPM range. Other manual cam chain tensioners on the market require the mechanic to guess at the best tension just by the feel of the adjuster screw. Repeatability is difficult with this type of tensioner. Manual cam chain tensioners do require some maintenance as the chain stretches, but will be much less likely to fail than the automatic chain tensioners."

As for the cam chain tensioner, that's a Factory Suzuki part, not for sale.

I dont get it either.

You can shave 10lbs off a bike, but you still cant ride it any faster than the previous model.

That should tell you something.
