Cool video, McCread, thanks for sharing that. He looks really, really fast, and he did have a great moto at the MXoN on Saturday. Amazing that he just turned 15.

By the way, the track looks like the old Orlando track called Orlando International Speedway, I think. It's where they had Trans-AMAs back in the day, and I think Gerrit Wolsink won there in '73 on a Maico. Beginning of his love affair with American races that saw him win Carlsbad (baked hard-pack, not sand) five times in six years.

Just a little Dutch moto trivia....

Yeah, the kid hauls ass. This is the second time in like 5 years I actually enjoyed the music in a mx-vid.

15 years old, and allready this fast. This means he have become this fast in like 7 years? Which means I can become super-fast in 7 years as well!!!

right at the end of 2008, i watched Herlings and Anstie battle it out for the junior world champs........ on 85cc bikes!!

a year later and anstie has completed a season in the 250 class, and herlings has been in the mxdn... talk about a massive step-up

It reminded me of the old Dade city track with a little rain the day before. I like it.

Nice Dutch National race he won....Gerard Rond, Wolsink, Frans Sigmunds, Toon Karsmakers....some good comp.

Thought Peter rode more 250GP rider later on like Neil Hudson or Pekka Vekkonen(sp?) days. Was thinking maybe even Hakan Andersson era, but not sure.

Heard about Jeffery while back that he was very good for his age; not Roczen speed, but not too far off either.

Yep Roczen and Herlings are getting the hype for next year and rightfully so at just 15 but Christophe Charlier beat them both in the Euro champs in 2009 and took the title, he is 17 and will be a contender as well, add to them World Champ Musquin as well as Simpson Paulin and Osborne. The MX2 class should have some amazing racing next season. But I'm rooting for Simpson I think he can do it, he is tough.

DC just out of interest why is there no national in Florida since Gainsville? Is it becasue of the weather in the summer?, they seem to have great tracks and alot of the riders live or come from there, seems like it would get a big crowd.

Florida is a tough area to draw a lot of fans. They have tried MX in St. Petersburg, Orlando and Gainesville, plus SX in Orlando, Tampa, Miami, Jacksonville... It's great for year-round riding, but the crowds aren't there for spectating. (Baseball has the same problem, as the Marlins and the Devil Rays always struggle when they aren't contenders.)

Gainesville used to draw a modest crowd, and that was in March, when it basically kicked off Bike Week at Daytona (the one event that does draw a good SX crowd in Florida). If it weren't back on the schedule, it would have to take place sometime in June, July or August, when it's really hot down there and there are no tourists to draw from, compared to winter and spring.

At 2:25, there is a clip where he rails a berm, and the audio picks up a two stroke nearer the microphone. It was heaven.

Orlando Sports Stadium Davey?

I raced yesterday at a track in Bartow, FL that reminded me quite a bit of Orlando.

Mark, that's what I meant! Sorry, it's been awhile. The last time I raced there was a Winter-AMA in '78, I think. I won the 85cc (12-14) class the week before in the mud in Jacksonville, then went to Orlando when it was dry and sandy -- and there is NO sand where I live in the northeast -- and got lapped by Todd Hempstead and Freddie Von Wagoner and those guys. It was brutal. I think only Cocoa Beach was rougher.

Diamondback! Where men were sent cowering home to the couch.

At our vintage race yesterday we had Billy Liles on a KX420, Tim Ealy on a YZ465 and Eric Yarnell on a 1980 CR125 all in 40+ Evo A. It was epic!

The last SX of RC's career, when he battled with Stewart at Orlando '07, should have been sold out. Two Florida superstars, plus Chad Reed and Tim Ferry and Davi Millsaps (all Floridians by residence or birth), and the place wasn't even half full. The ones who were there saw an amazing race! There's just too much other stuff to do down there, maybe. Believe me, it's nothing like California.

I loved that sand the kid was riding in. Perfect density and wetness. Just pitch it in the corners with a slight front wheel knife move to scrub speed, then hold it wide open to exit. Cool thing about sand is the aggressiveness you can exert on the track....throttle controll, no need for that.

Thanks for shareing the video.

Anyone can go fast there. That track was like a sand freeway. I like the kids style though.

The 2 stroke here and there was nice. That 4 stroke.. those things just sound like crap.

You see a lot of people from that part of Florida, west to Mississippi, Louisiana area that also go to Atlanta. Daytona and Orlando were back to back just a couple weeks after ATL, along with LL areas getting going.

People in MS, LA and surrounding also have TX and MO rounds to choose from.

Many of us in those empty stands have a lot to do with ATL being so good. I see people in ATL that the only other time I may see is at a regional or LL, we've also got Daytona 500 in Feb, Gator Nationals usually on same weekend as Daytona SX or Orlando.

ATL & Daytona, there's something else to do and you don't need rental cars to get from airport to hotel, to race. Not much else going on around Citrus bowl and just look forward to expensive parking and post race road rage in Jax.

Look at the Jags attendance, feel much better about SX draw.
