Is it safe to wrap a helmet? When I was a lad my dad always told me never to put stickers on my helmets as the adhesive could damage the shell.
If that's true surely those wraps are no good, the adhesive used seems to be extremely strong.

Plastic (polycarbonate) shelled helmets are indeed susceptible to weakening by certain vapors, but primarily the kind that evaporate- gasoline, acetone, xylene, and other solvents used in paint. That's why you were warned about painting a plastic lid. The fiberglass and carbon shells are fine.

I don't think the adhesives used on stickers are strong enough to do any damage to the integrity of the plastic shell- especially today's materials.

My mom always said "Make sure to wrap your helmet, you don't want to ruin your life being a teenage dad!"

Magik makes quality wraps! I have had one wrap on for over a year and none of the edges are peeling up..definitely happy with the longevity. But be prepared for hours of install time; take your time and use soap. This is my newest wrap.

I guess I'm the only one here whose mom didn't give him helmet sticker advice.
