I don't see where the enjoyment is with extreme races.
Maybe it's just the pure adrenalin rush you get ? Or the sense of achievement having completed/got so far in the event.

Those guys are absolutely mental. And to Rowlands, I just did a pretty tricky enduro ride a few weeks back. Not nearly as gnarly as these hard enduro guys, but a lot of steep climbs, boulders, logs, rock waterfalls. Once you get into a groove and you just get in the zone of you have to get up and over whatever is ahead of you it's pretty enjoyable. And to then turn around and look at what you just came down or up is a pretty great feeling.

I see what you mean as I come from a trials background I have also done some enduro's but when I am up to my knees in shit soaking wet ,freezing cold,no goggles , bikes all twisted and beat up I just think to myself WTF am I doing haha. Each to there own I suppose

Ya I know what you mean. Erzberg is definitely a bucket list for me though. Probably wouldn't finish it but just to start it and see how far I would get would be such a cool experience.

The terrain looks pretty fun but, I am out on the cold and miserable.
