Have you guys complaining about rising ticket prices been confused this whole time?

Prices are a little absurd for motorsports in general. 3 day general admission passes for MotoGP are usually in the $150 range. Good seats are in the $200+ range.
The bonus with motogp is the private food vendors. You can usually get some phenomenal food for a decent price.

I decided to just be a normal fan at SD2 this year.

Bought decent seats, 4 seats at $50.00 a piece, not bad, until there was a service charge, a convenience fee, and one other fee that I can't even remember...Tickets came out just over $80.00 a piece.

The above is exactly why I prefer just to watch from my couch. Beer is cheaper, seats are comfier, bathrooms closer, no commuting, no hotels...

I love being at the races, and FELD puts on a hell of a program, but an extra $120.00 for random fees just doesn't sit well with me.

Once I stopped wasting all of my money on my own motocross racing habits, I was able to buy whatever seats I wanted, $12 beers, $7 pretzel, etc. without batting an eye. Plenty of disposable income once you stop riding/racing Wink

Yes I know compared to NFL, MLB, Nascar, and concerts supercross is a great value, but when the seating chart says $50 but when you go to buy them they are $99 thats a big increase.

We got 4 tickets for Indy and they were about $105 each. I know we didn't pay that much a couple years ago. So yeah, they have gone up. I think $100+ is a bit much, but I want to go so I didn't think about it too long.

The wife and I are going to the Arlington race and sitting in club level (I think 212) and paid around 80 each. It is about what we have paid the last few years.

I bought 4 $40 seats for Oakland from Ticketmaster. Those sob's tacked on $16 per ticket in fees and other charges. Seems like their BS fees go up a little bit very year.

Is there a way to buy tickets without having to pay the obscene fees? Can you even go to the venues box office and do it directly?

I love it when you guys complain about price increases... How much higher is a gallon of milk from 5 years ago? It's called inflation and our economy sucks donkey balls! how much has fuel been, the price of everything has gone up why would you expect ticket prices to remain the same?

I bought 2nd section in Arlington row #1, I decided to pay good money as I HATE when idiots stand up in in front of you for minutes at a time for every semi-exciting thing that happens on the track. Last time I was in S.D we basically had to stand up for half of the race and my son could really not see because of the two inbreds sitting in front of us. After numerous fans besides myself yelling at these assholes to sit the fuck down, I had had enough and had to tap him on the shoulder and suggest he sit in his fucking seat or trade my son places. Your view is the same from 100 yards away if your standing or sitting....I do not get it ?

Yes. It's way cheaper because you're not buying through a 3rd party and paying processing fees. But for some people who drive from hours away they want guaranteed seats. Oh well, you can't please everyone. It is what it is. If you want the guarantee before you make the drive then don't bitch when you pay through the roof, see it as insurance. I don't need insurance to go watch a bunch of guys ride motorcycles around an indoor course. I'm happy with whatever seat I can afford in whatever section is available.

I paid significantly less than others paid for tickets in the same section last year in Arlington. I bought mine day of, they bought theirs in advance through a 3rd party. Lower bowl, $50. That's my max for SX. Others paid $70-80 for the same seats.

I don't have a problem paying more for tickets if the tickets are worth it.

Case in point, once a year the wife and I go to Luke Bryan and do the VIP program.....The tickets prices are borderline obscene, but you get a lot of perks. Private acoustic set, drinks are a quarter of the cost in the private lounge, front row parking, front row seats when the main concert starts, etc etc. The tickets are X amount, and there are no extra charges, what you see is what you get.

Then we do SX, and we pay for the tickets, and have all these extra fees with no extra perks. It just feels like I'm getting F'd.

San diego tix started at 48.00 plus 13.50 TicketBastard fees.

The 20.00 treadhead seats were nosebleed and sold out quickly.

I just found "discount" tickets last night, 30 instead of 40-45 and it ended up coming to $100 for two "30 dollar tickets"...wtf

Last year I paid about 125 for 2 tickets 2nd row right in the middle at indy. I went to purchase them again right when they went on sale for 2015 and they were over $200, needless to say I didn't buy them. Whereas I bought 2 tickets to each atlanta race for $168 total after taxes. They were too bad of seats, still lower section.
The tickets for Indy this season are ridiculous. And the tickets for Toronto were a great value.... Not sure why they are pricing like that.

I hadn't planned on going to any races, but someone at work wanted to go for the first time. We had a Feld flyer at work posted for "discount tickets" to the Anaheim rounds. I contacted the Feld rep and there was service charge/fee per order. I HATE those fees.

I'm not sure why I didn't think of it earlier...(I think I'd guess the flyer at work would be a pretty good deal), but I called the local Yamaha Dealer and they had $40 tickets, with no fees, including pit passes. I thought it was a fair enough deal...especially since I parked across from the stadium for free and brought in my own food and drink. I wouldn't mind paying to eat at the venue if I didn't feel so much like i was being gouged.

It used to be a no-brainer going to 1-2 SoCal rounds, but that's changed.

I would think the business model would be to get people into the gate and they will, most likely, spend even more. I'm sure Feld has it covered somehow/someway to maximize profits. I just don't help like I used to.
