Shoulder injuries are not easy to fully recover from. Especially when at a young age. This isnt his first rodeo with shoulder injury either. He had issues before going pro before his body was fully developed. Going to be extremely difficult to overcome the injuries and be consistently successful. Sorry to say, but his career will playout like Canard. Media darling and always a threat, for the 1/3 season hes actually racing...

An btw multiple shoulder injuries is very bad.

My friend has had huge problems with his shoulder, it popped out a few times and he got surgery but it keeps popping out. It dislocated 2 days ago and that was like the 6th time.

And the doctors have been saying that the shoulder should be strong enough for MX.

Shoulder and wrist injuries can be very difficult to cope with.

Edit: and he is the same age as Adam.

He's a media darling so he'll stay employed for years to come even if he blows out a few more joints along the way. Adam will have success. Marvin is going to 450s, Martin is not a SX threat, Webb & Bowers might end up on another coast. There's good odds on Adam winning races.
Agree on the media darling thing for AC, and not only that, he is just a real good, down to earth kid. A true ambassador/role model type!

"Martin is not a SX threat" I wouldn't bet the farm on that one just because he missed a main and still got third in the series to MM25 (a 25 yr-old who could never stay healthy before either) and the defending champ, both of whom he tracked down and passed at ATL. He's won races, that makes him a threat. I think he is better outdoors, which makes people think he isn't any good at SX (see BB4's rep), but to say he isn't a threat in 250 SX might be a reach? Needs to start more consistently and you will see many more JM6 SX victories, speed indoors isn't the problem there.

That being said, AC will win many more races in his still young career!!!

Hey GuyB how about a new front page poll. Who will have the better career..

- Austin Forkner

- Adam Cianciarulo

That's a legit poll. Especially since both have progressed through the ranks in very similar ways and both are PC riders.

Legit topic. I feel bad for the kid, like someone said, hasn't completed a full season. This sport moves along real quick.

Robbie Reynard. Anyone remember him?? same deal. He was THE guy coming into the pro ranks. Injury after injury, he never lived up to his potential, and it was a shame.

I hope that I'm wrong. I am a big fan of Adam and would love nothing more than to see him succeed - whether that's at the level that was expected by the industry when he turned pro or a different level.

I'm not sure what's wrong with the discussion, though. Adam hasn't completed a single series yet out of his 5 attempts.

Who has a low level of regard? It's a very legit topic and relevant to his struggles.

I'm pulling for him. He seems like a great kid and has amazing talent. It sucks to see injuries change a career. Like someone else mentioned, one of the few people who ever beat RC straight up was Robbie Reynard. Injuries changed his whole career. Shoulder injuries similar to Adam's.

This will be Adam's 4th full-time year of Outdoors.

My original post was not to incite negativity or hate on Adam. It was more just a discussion if he can climb as high as Martin and Webb considering the early success they have had and the injuries he has been through.

He still has a lot of promise, but he also has a ways to go to meet or eclipse what some of his peers have done already.

Adam Cianciarulo has the talent no doubt. It's a bummer that he missed allot of races in his pro carreer so far due to injury and illness.. But i believe that the 2016 seasons will be good for him.

2016 250 outdoors .. AC vs Webb vs Martin, we could be in for some incredible racing!

I love the way AC rides, he's aggressive and jumps things most others wont, kinda like Stewart! Its great to watch his DGAF attitude, and yes he's great for the sport behind the mic...(Pastrana like) Hope he can bulk up a bit and stay healthy and you'll see him win a title.

I agree, I would not have a problem with 18 being the minimum age for professional competition,

AC is a late bloomer, he gained a lot of height and some muscle as well. A big part of his recovery is muscle strength in his shoulders. He runs with the Baker boys, so you know he'll put in the work. I think he's just getting started.

BTW: Canard IS an AMA Champion...will AC ever be? Nobody knows, but it will be interesting to watch his career develop. Honestly, I am little sceptical at this point, but I wouldn't be shocked (even surprised, really) if he turned out to be a Champion and had a long and successful career. I wish the kid well...
