just watch San Diego 2001 and then call it. think of what it took to overthrow McGrath, all the practice, the training. it's the epic moment of Supercross history, the heart that is in this race, the ultimate 2 man brawl, at the very highest level.

trust me, this is the greatest race of all time.

I forget which race it was but RC and MC went back and forth a few times and RC whipped the bike next to MC over a triple. MC Glanced over at him. The rest was history.

Salt Lake City 2009 is also great for a stalker race. Stewart dogged Reed on the Suzuki for many laps, until they traded back and forth in a heated battle of wills. listening to close to Emig call it is crucial.

In no particular order. Admittedly, I have some bias toward any St. Louis round because I was there.

1990 Atlanta
1996 St. Louis
2001 San Diego
2001 A2
2002 Pontiac
2003 Dallas
2007 Orlando
2011 Atlanta
2013 St. Louis

Anaheim 86 doesn't make your cut?

I'm with everyone who says Atlanta 1990. That was a straight up brawl between some all time badasses.

Ok guys, we're going to working on an internet short film about 1978 LA Coliseum SX....Hannah tee'd up to win the title, he gets a horrible start, passes 15 guys in 2 laps, gets knocked off track by Rick Burgett, goes back 6 spots, comes back through pack, gets stopped again by guys stuck by mud from Goodwin's "waterhole", comes back through pack. Meanwhile, his teammate Mike Bell moves into lead and Hannah catches him on last lap but Bell holds him off. Bell wins his first Supercross, Hannah wins the title.

One of the best.

Out in June sometime.

I dont think one race can be pointed to as the best as i would argue the 2003 pheonix was great race or a lot of the 2006 sx racing was great. I think it would be better to point to a season. One that was close and filled with great racing.

This would have to be 2006. top 3 within 4 points of each other. separate title winners, multiple race winners

Orlando 2007 should be in there. Ricky's last SX race and he duked it out with James the entire race. I think James won that night, and it was sort of a passing of the torch sort of moment.

Was there, it was my second supercross. Amazing race. Very cold in Fulton County stadium that night.

Can't wait. Are you planning to work anything up for Atlanta 1990?

This. I think there were five different race leaders (Johnny O', Bradshaw, Cooper, Rick Johnson, and Jeff Ward) and eight lead changes throughout the course of the race. It was nuts, and I've never seen anything else like it.

Guys,

Check this 5 minutes or so in. The story of the 1990 Atlanta SX. We produced this show like 4 years ago:

http://youtu.be/_t25FDkAtwU

Watch all the others too...most of them mentioned here are there. Enjoy!

Close. That happened on the parade lap. They were tied in points.

ive been looking for a qualifying race, i think it was in 2005, and i think at Anaheim. during a heat race chad reed and ezra lusk had a back and forth battle for the whole heat. anyone know when and where it was? that was one race that sticks out in my mine even though it wasnt a main.
