Also, I might add that every rider I listed in that top 21 is healthy as far as I know. Stewart of course could be suspended, opening up a spot.

Thas the 21 guys I can come up with on Factory Level equipment
it used to be ,the class cc that sold the most units ,was the desirable pro class to race.
are 450's really outselling 250's? I don't know..
Some good guys not making the main this year.
Pit Row
The big sponsership money is in SX; let the manufacturers and teams cut loose. Let the fans see exotic stuff and push the bike development forward. Put in a 125c two stroke requirement for the entry level regional events.
That will open it up for privateers.
Seriously? Where are you getting your info from?
???
Now, if you consider support as in, fancy tractor trailer rig to haul his bike, airplane tickets to get to the races and a mechanic, then yes his support is jut as good.
Half the fans at SX have no idea who is racing or what brand machines their on. There there for a party and they'll likely be there the next event weekend for Monster Jam. The core fans there are plugged in but open the sport up more and see if you can't develop more true fans.
I got into MX in the late seventies when about any manufacturer would show up and give it a go. Pretty neat to see if your a gear head. To watch the major evolution in suspension design going on was really cool, part of the reason I became an ME.
Seems the sports all corporate these days; rules tweaked to meet the demands of the few players. SX is the arena to remove the limits and get a variety of development going again. Definite a venue to see electrics compete against the IC engines.
Looks like the small firm known as Beta took the Endurocross title from KTM the leader in off road motorcycles AND they did it with a two stroke! Wow, amazing what could happen should some people pull their heads out of their ass and push for a fair rules structure instead of cowering behind the status quo.
