Did Matt have to walk off with a broken hip while Bubba got the cart ride? Kind of looked that way on TV.

I hope he heals up soon. Tough kid.

They carried him out as well, but it definitely looks they took more care to james then matt! I talked to matt before the race and he was saying he still didn't feel his speed is where it used to be but every race he is improving and started to feel comfortable again. poor guy has to start all over again.

It looked like Matt got up and was trying to walk off with one of the Asterisk guys helping him but then it looked like they had him sit.
I'm sure they must have taken him in another Mule.

yeah they did. I can't believe he actually walked off though. A pelvic break is horrible.. I found this link and was shocked http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080922075427AAJGuqn
There's many types of a broken pelvis, so don't think that they are all equal. With that said, a fractured pelvis (with fragments) is one of the most serious medical emergencies that exists, b/c it's like a black hole of death if there's a bleed in there. I had a trauma surgeon once tell me that he would rather face a bullet through the chest than a broken pelvis with a bleed.

There's also a stable or unstable pelvis, depending on the type/severity of the break. People with a stable pelvis can generally walk quite well.

My brother broke his pelvis last nov.. His break was called an "open book fracture".. the tendons on the pelvis ripped and the bone twisted and bent like you would do when opening a book. That break is the worst kind for the pelvis the doctors at Cedars-Sinia said.
