sup bros. went for a good trail ride this last weekend and got some sweet pictures and video.

the ride is up Ben Lomond Peak in Ogden, UT. bitchin' thing about this ride is it is only 5 miles from my house.

the entire trail is a really fun ride, but it's the final ascent to the peak that is the real fun.

the video definitely doesn't do it justice, i was puckered tighter than a snare drum on some of the switchbacks.

about 1300 vertical feet in less than 3/4 miles.

anyway, here's some pics and a video (put it in HD). maybe this kind of shit will help the offseason go by.

(post some pics/vids of trails, pucker sections, climbs, etc in here)

that's the peak on the right

view of Ogden Valley (can probably zoom way in and see my shitty neighbor kids winning the shittiest kids in the neighborhood award)

the parking lot is at the middle right

the view from the top, peak elevation is 9711'
the overall ride elevation climb was 3600' from the parking lot
also, that's the Great Salt Lake on the horizon to the left (south)

and the video... ps don't let the video fool you, it's a steep bastard off the side of the trail
enjoy Bros

Thanks bros. The way down isn't bad but the switch backs are a bitch coming down. I threw er in neutral and milked it. Going again tomorrow to the next peak over, try to get more pics and video. Also that 300xc is almost unfair when it gets ugly, such a great bike for the mountains

Yo Peelout here is my 13 300 XC. Just got it.......suspension is going to be the Showa A Kit I had on my 012.5 Dungey. The suspension is out being set-up for offroad. Low boy pegs, 3/4" bar risers and a Spark Arrestor and I am set. Also had a real custom set of graphics coming. Never did that beforeSmile Oh and heavy duty tubes. Not sure if I need a flywheel weight - I am 61 years young - what say you?

I may have to work you a bit as I would love to come and ride those trails some time.......and ya I would milk the switch backs to LOL

Looks like a bad ass ride, Peelout. The view looks awesome.

I just put a few clips together last night from 2 weeks ago. The place is Wellsville, Ohio. Its on the Ohio river which you can see in the end. If anyone is bored in the off season search wellsville on youtube. Lots of crazy off road footage from all kinds of vehicles. Its pretty crazy place all together. But here is some footage.

Tim, bike looks badass, little jealous not gonna lie. My '12 is supreme though. That stock flywheel should be gold. I put an FMF shorty on for the extra bottom end, love it. I'm always looking for new riding buddies!

Hazzard, Ohio looks Primo!

Cool vid, that single track looks fun as hell. The sound of your 300 on those trails makes me want to sell my 450. So damn crisp!

Peelout - how about a video of the ride down too?

I'll post it tomorrow, the down video is cool but I forgot to turn the camera on through the top section. No engine sounds either, just coasting so it's pretty sweet too

Thanks Dean, the 300 was a big decision from my 450, loving every minute of it though

Can you say moran? Everyone knows that people in these forums don't ride and few even own bikes. You think having a bike AND riding it gives you street cred? WAJ, and people on here thought you were CORE. Trees, canyons, hills and stellar views...C'mon, anyone can download that off the internet BRO. If this was GoPro footy of you and your buds skull crushing CL's, installing a stripper pole in your mom's basement and painting your lifted F150 Matte Black........10 pager bud. Now that's offseason behavior, you poser.

Class move saying howdy and being polite to the non-motorbikers near the begining. Every little bit helps to keep our trails open to us two-wheel motorbike types.

I'm guessing about 80% of all wheels and tires are sold in Utah. I'm assuming those gray jaggedy looking objects would be what you guys call rocks?

Good times!!

It is nice to see I am not the only one who has a challenge on those downhill right hand switchbacks, admittedly those up there are particularly NASTY!!!

Peely, I have some guys coming in from Cali the end of the month, doing American Fork canyon on the 27th and Beaver Mtn on the 28th, pm me if you're interested. There are about 10-12 of us, mostly a little older than you.

damn peely that looks like a fun time! The off camber rocky uphills on the side of the mountain I have a love/hate relationship with cause they are an absolute blast to ride, but the pucker factor is ridiculous. Definitely wouldn't ride it alone!

sounds good. i've been wanting to get out to different areas, haven't ridden American Fork yet but have spent many days in Beaver Mtn area on a snowmobile. Mayfield is fun too. regarding the downhill switchbacks up there... not sure what's going to stop you or the bike if you go 6 inches too far on some of them, it's a long way down haha.

i'll put a reminder in my phone and hit you up a little closer to that date.

The downhill vid is sweet too. Epic scenery and it really shows how tough some of those corners are.

went again last night but kept going on the trail rather than turning around at the Peak.

here's some more pics. i have a couple badass vids too, higher speeds and definitely some sketchy moments.

i had one point where i almost went off the side, lost traction in the front wheel at high-speed and almost lost it.

good times though, the weather and lighting were unreal.

Amazing shots Peelout. Thanks for sharing. That kind of riding is awesome and I miss doing it. I've turned into the World's National Practice Track Champion and haven't been trail riding in decades. I used to ride at a local place called Clear Creek which was shut down by tree huggers to protect us from asbestos. Since then, I have had zero interest in riding off road but if I lived near some stuff like that, I'd change my mind. Amazing views. I used to be amazed at how much the weather would change because we'd be able to climb so high in altitude. One time it went from cold and cloudy at the bottom to rain, to hail, and finally full on SNOW by the time we reached the highest peaks. Pretty fun riding in fresh snow that is only 2-3 inches deep. Still had killer traction but it was a little sketchy because it would hide holes and rocks.

This thread rules and needs a bump.

Awesome shots boys! I am a offroad nut, so this is eye candy for me. I need to get out to ride Utah one of these days.....

Anyway, here's my contribution. Filmed last Friday in the northern US Cascades.
