Pardon my ignorance. Or maybe it is age.

I, like many others scan the want ads, craigslist, etc for used dirt scooters. I also check out the bike builds here and elsewhere. Over and over I see people put on a black rear fender. Many times also black rear number plates. What is the attraction of all this black plastic? It is like a uniform for the "my bike is different" crowd.

No judgement on this. I don't mind at all. Just wondering.

The rmz came stock like that for 2016. It was big back in the late 90s-early 00s for the most part. I'm not a fan of it, but some bikes look good with it when done up right

Black resin might be cheaper than colored resin? I don't know.

I couldn't agree more. Black is great for a Harley...for a dirt scooter, not so much.

In 09, kawi had the monster energy edition line up. They looked good but 4 hours in, the black plastics looked 2 years old.

The black rear plastics are because of teams like pro circuit, and monster kawi black everything except front fender and number plate.

Everything is going black theses days, simply go to google images and type in Jeep Wrangler. You will see you can even buy them off the lot blacked out. These days your colors are black, white, or some God awful color like teal or lime green. Kids these days suck and unfortunately I'm grouped with them.

Hell Raiser is probably the best looking bike ever.

Other than that, not a fan of black bikes.

Ok...I was going to post that black bikes only had a place in FMX (where black plastic got it's start), but then I saw this. Great looking bike, that would only look better with a black powdercoated frame.

The early 90's spawned the movement.

A JK is not a jeep. They are a mini van with a jeep emblem.

Black plastics can look descent if done right. But most look like late 90's freestyle bros.
