Sucks to see Gavin take such a bad spill. I was really looking forward to see what he could do in AX this year, but with that list of injuries I doubt he'll be ready by the first round.

What was puzzling about it? Something to do with the metal ramp used for the takeoff of the finish jump?

I was sitting right there and thought I heard a big panic rev so don't know if it seized but I've been wrong.

He was the only rider whipping it that way that I saw as the next corner went left, looked like he just shorted it and because it was such a steep landing (doubled as freestyle landing) it wasn't very forgiving for coming up short and nose down.

Whatever the cause it was scary and glad he'll be ok because he didn't move at all.

If you watch the video close, you can see his back wheel stop turning, seized or brake jam?? not sure. and the chain is tight when the bike comes to a stop.

Yeh I just saw the video, guess my on the spot observation was wrong hey haha.

It is weird that he was so front end low, the fact that it happened as he was throwing a fat finish line whip is maybe just a coincidence. Still a bummer for him cos he was on the pace of the top 4. Hope he heals and it doesn't put him to far behind for ax

That's some scary stuff. Can you imagine that type of thing happening over the leap or that booter triple at hangtown? Aint no one walkin away from that
