I got my Fox Flexair Union aqua gear today and i have to say what a weird set of gear.

The jersey feels so lightweight that i'm almost afraid that it will come apart when i wash it after my first ride.
The pants are by far the most comfortable pants i have ever worn, like yoga pants for motocross. I thought my FOX 360 2014 gear was lightweight, i was wrong the Fox Flexair is next level.

The Flexair gear has been out since the Glen Helen national and i'm sure that there are plenty of Vital members that have been using the Flexair gear a lot since the release. What about the durability? I feel like the small holes in the jersey will start to crack open after a few rides, have you had any problems with it?

I'm sure that it will take awhile to get used to the feel of the weird fabrics they use but i look forward to ride with it on the weekend.

So, since I'm rocking 10 year old baggy/heavy gear that I stockpiled can someone who has tried all these lightweight, tight fitting, stretchy gear throw out some comments on how they like them and who has the lightest or who's your fav?

Seems like this is the new gear trend (started by Stew's 7?)

So you're saying it's as comfortable as your yoga pants eh?!

The pants are a bit tighter than normal Fox 360 pants, but they stretch way more than the 360 pants.

So the durability is good despite of the lightweight?

moto - The lightweight trend, specially in pants, was more of a One Industries thing, but with poor execution. The Seven pants aren't as light as what Thor and Fox have right now.

EK - I don't think we'll be seeing the compression jerseys (the tight stuff). I wore one about two years ago and they told me the price then... yikes... over $100 to do just the jersey section.

But what about Seven, the prices are insane. Why are their gear sets so expensive? Is it only because of the name Seven? Like Apple and iPhone in the mobile phone business, it's a fashion statement so they can charge more money than the competitors?

Seven nova stuff is surprisingly durable and the best fitting gear I've owned.

Is that the Hydrogen line? I'v always liked looks of the Fly Hydrogen line of gear, too bad that it's so difficult to get Fly gear in Finland. I would love to try it some day in the future. I could order it from a dealer i UK or another country in EU but it would be nice to try it before paying!

What was the first year of the Hydrogen gear? I'm thinking of the One pants from about four years ago that were really light but fit horribly.

Only complaint I have about my set is the fitment of the knees, but I have that with every single pair of gear for the most part. I have longer legs but a skinny frame, so 30's fit my waist but are not long enough for the knees to fit right. Wish it were possible for mx pants to come in different lengths like jeans.

My gear ripped in the front knee, can't really count that against durability though, not too many pairs of gear would probably withstand a hot exhaust header.

Wasn't really arguing with your thoughts, just throwing another into the mix.

The Hydro gear is the best value from a price standpoint isn't it? Like I said, never worn any of this "tight, light, stretchy" new stuff but would like to try some.

Ahh, I thought you meant I overlooked when Fly introduced the Hydrogen line. Laughing But you're right, it's a very good set to throw in the mix. Wink

...or you can just head over to ALiAS MX, create a Direct 2 Rider account, and get a jersey/pant/glove combo for Under $120 Cool

This. The Thor prime fit is great stuff. I have a set and I've washed it\worn it probably 10-15 times now. No problems whatsoever. Super comfortable and super light weight. Haven't seen the new fox stuff yet.

So what's the catch with that? It seems too good to be true.

I guess the only catch is you might end up with a lot of different sets of gear to wash at the end of the week... The membership is free.

ALiAS has cut out the middleman (i.e. not selling to dealers in the US) to deliver lower prices. Click here

I travel to Helsinki a lot. Headed there next Tuesday as a matter of fact! Send me a PM and maybe I can bring you some Fly gear. Smile
