Anyone have tips for fitting all the dirtbikes in the garage so we have room to work around them still?
We're gonna be building some new shelving but floor space is an issue with 4 bikes in a single car garage.

Disassemble and clean everything. Hang stuff on walls. Get rid of shit you don't need that takes up space- this is my problem.

I've got 9 in my single car garage right now, 4 of those are pitbikes so they take up a little less space. Angle method works best for me.

Only issue is ease of access to remove bikes and roll them back in. Been parking them diagonally so far... Thought there might be some creative contraptions on here!

This. I have 5 bikes in a 1 car. Keep 4 bikes on angles as shown. 1 bike where the drz and bench is, and 32 inch wide Toolbox and workbench at the head of the garage (where pic taken). No issues Smile

Quick question? Is that Franzia on ice in your yellow plastic cup? Sweet set up none the less.

This is kinda what we're rocking at the moment, bikes on a diagonal like that. Need shelving for gear and parts and blah blah... things are a little messy at the moment and we need more lighting aswell.

I'd be taking what Newman has and throw the ammo shelf on top of the bike shelf/loft. Bikes under. Bike parts gear tents whatever else is laying around on the shelf. Basically double that space. Obviously depends on what ur working with though.

Really doesn't look like you can do much with that. I say build a shed, and park your car in there.

Ahh, this is perfect! I need a few more bikes Smile .
Unfortunately, I have to park my truck in my 1 car garage, or the HOA won't give my daughter a parking permit.

So for now, I can fit 1 bike. It goes against the back wall. I can probably squeeze in 2.

I really like your setup. I need to build a small workbench.

I put mine on stands and onto furniture movers. That way you can roll em around and also place em very close side by side by moving bars to the left or right.

Build a dolly the size of the stand and place it under with swivel wheels. Move it around whenever you want. You're welcome.

I have six in one half of my garage. I built small work stands and added some cheap harbor freight swivel wheels. They take up much less space when you can roll them tight up next to each other upright. Six in the space normally taken up by three or four. Easy to move around when you need to get at a particular one etc. See my avatar for an example of the stands.

I also have shelving all the way around my garage just above head level. Nothing gets stored on the floor..... everything is up on the shelves, on the wall, under my benches, or in the chest. Shelves built to accept flip top plastic totes two high. Try to keep everything in these totes on the shelves, on the wall, or from the ceiling.

My my tool chests and benches are also on wheels with the exception of one solid mount with vice and such attached to it.

For me, key to such a small space is getting everything up and off the floor and put away in uniform storage or some other fashion for the items that dont fit. Everything moves around so I can reconfigure easily based on the project at hand. Uniformity, organizing, and commitment to put stuff away makes working and storing in a small space much more enjoyable.

Garage has a few different bikes now, but the layout is the same

All told, I can get at least 6 bikes in and still get access to the bench. If I had to store them for a cold winter I could but in Queensland, Australia, I just leave my daily road bike outside and usually everything else inside. When you rebuild you need a lot more space... at least I do.

Not everybody's situation is the same, but I just start loading stuff into the house. I just got rid of my washer and dryer so that I could put a couple of stacks of rolling tool boxes in their place. I don't mind hitting the laundromat once a month, and their machines are way better than the ones I had.
Do you have parents that live nearby? I find mine store way too much unnecessary stuff like Christmas trees and decorations, and other useless items. I feel like I'm actually doing them a favor, as well as myself, by clearing these items out, and putting good stuff in their place.
I hope these ideas help.
