Does anyone remember the full story? I believe that wasn't the first time it was jumped, but I don't remember very good these days.

The asterisk is that he was the first to jump it in competition. He had hit jumped it in previous days during the track prep for the race, as he lives near the track. He didn't jump it in practice, but some of the 250 guys did and continued to throughout the day. Nobody else tried it on a 125...until Bubba came along 5 or 6 years later.

The old double double in the infield was a cool section, they should bring that back.

Anybody remember back when, it looked like a big bite was taken out of the hillside. Coming up short was landing into a wall. I believe Dowd broke his leg on it years ago.

They've moved the turn at the bottom closer and it's a 180 now, compared to the last time that 250 2-strokes ruled and the turn was further out and somewhere between a 90 and 180, I don't think anyone was doing it regularly on a 250F last year, and I think a top-shelf 250F is putting down comparable power to Gragg's 2-stroke. I'm gonna go with "no".

Yes, that era was clearly the beginning of motocross.

Yep, exactly what I was thinking. A lot of complaining about the jumps today, but this track looked way more jump filled. lol

The year Larocco won the 250 Championship he always got a poor start. I remember seeing McGrath leading one time and his mechanic held out his board and it said "he's coming". Didn't even have to put his name or number on it. Larocca was a bad ass that year.
