First mx bike

Edited Date/Time 6/16/2015 9:05pm
Hi guys,
I'm looking into getting my first motocross bike and came across this bike and wondered if it would be ok as a mx bike? It is a 125cc and is very tall!
Thanks

That bike's not even worth a bag of groceries. Also is that an oil filter sticking out of the exhaust?

If you're new to mx and looking for a first bike, your best bet would be a CR500.

It's a head breather.

OP, whatever you do, don't buy that bike.

I think with the red one, just take off the headlight and you'll be good to go. Make sure to get the powerbands checked before you sink your $$ into it.

And they only let those kind of bikes run in the pro class, so make sure that's what you sign up in.

I would go for the black one which is the bike that Mike Alessi raced at the British GP (proof can be found on the front plate). Sure, he was more than 5 seconds off the pace, but it should be fine for you as a "first MX bike".

Run the #800 for sure bro, and don't forget to click into 4th gear right before the lip on the triple. Nice garage BTW...yours or are you just leasing?

That's exactly what I had when I started. It would clear quadruple step ups while lugging It In 7th gear no problemo.

NO. If your an adult and you going to ride mx tracks get any late model 250f, the newest one with the lowest hrs you can afford.

You would be much better off putting your money towards an older used bike. Like motokiwi said, get a yamaha/kawasaki/honda/suzuki - something you can actually get parts for. Literally any actual bike would be better than that thing.

Look for like a used xr or crf100, they're bulletproof.

I wish I lived closer, I would hit on that. It's just old school springs and grease. Can't ever find if it is damping or dampening and does it really matter?

No doubt about it...84 CR125, KX 125 Rebuild, KX125 forks, this one, and a few others all started in last two days with same M.O. This is the work of the Quad_Spammer aka Quad_Johnson.

I'm astounded by how many Vital members there are that have no "bullshit meter".

I know most of these are bs posts, but I'm sure there are a small few that are legitimately dumb like this. I wish there was a way of knowing which few are legit though.

One clue is if the OP is interacting with the members who have kindly responded their bs threads. This has not been the case in all these recent threads. I guess there is no real harm done and often the threads are good for a laugh or two.

Rick should have stuck with the YZ. His helmet and fenders were gay, lol.
