As a Elsinore fanatic, I must say you did quite the outstanding job there. More pics and a detailed description of what all you had to do to her, please. With the exception of a few, I've always "restored" most of my bikes to race and realize how much more has to be done to get them up to that showroom state.

Man, I'm not much into vintage bikes, but that one is amazing. Excellent job!

Funny, I thought the same thing. Was it assembled in a dust free room? amazing job.

Thanks for the positive reactions! I'm a 21 year old student from Holland and work on saturdays at the local Honda dealership. I bought two '80 CR125R's 1,5 years ago and started collecting NOS Honda parts from all over the world to restore one of the bikes to perfect condition. I found NOS chainroll brackets in the original color and had the painter reproduce this color to paint the frame, swingarm, shocks and brakearm. The gastank was renovated by Phil Cox from Plastic Renovations in the US for the finishing touch. All the plastic is NOS Honda, and so is the exhaust. The engine is restored with as much NOS parts as I could find. Even if it wasn't necessary, parts were replaced by NOS parts. I sold the bike to a MX museum/collection in Sweden, so I can focus on a new project!

It is beautiful! Great job--- The gas tank? Looks like it should be on an old XR instead of a CR- But I don't know anything about restorations. I thought the CR tank was long and skinny??

The 1980 CR250R had a longer gastank, this is the original for the 125

Obviously you didn't restore it, you went and bought it brand new from a dealer who had it sitting on the show room floor since 1980! Damn, great job! I bought one of those brand new and raced it in 1980, good bike, fast right of of the showroom floor.

as I've posted before one of the best looking mx bikes ever

and makes the 'claw tyre' 23" ridiculous tank pipe spacing of 79 cr125 look so so so ugly

great job!

like newman posted i've built lots of vintage bikes but to race not for showroom

funny i'd see guys start do a few things showroom quality, then find each part of the bike needed the same attention to make it look right, say like everything showroom except the axles, pivots, case bolts, etc which would then stand out as 'crappy'
