The worst part about the plastic white tanks was when they turned all yellow. Damn those are some pretty smokers tho...

I got into MX and SX post MC/Honda days, so for me this signifies pure dominance. I remember Art Eckman said his infamous "And the checker's for Jeremy!" even tho Jeremy didn't win the race. It was just automatically programmed for him to say that line because MC was winning week in and week out.

Those yamahas were cool! Look how big the rear sprocket was! They had some crazy gearing.

No....I think it was a bike he was goint to use at x games best whip, but then he ended up riding a four stroke instead.

Demuth.
Pretty sick lookin, I wonder how those top level AX bikes compared to the factory 2-strokes of MX and SX. Because as sweet as that is, all I can spy is a nice PC pipe and some forks.

I don't know, AX guys were not getting the same special factory treatment like the sx guys were, but there were some clever people stetting bikes like this up for josh......they were good. But in arenacross you just needed bottom and mid, it was pretty slow, and you never got on top with the powerband.

Is it just me or is the ass end really squatting on MC's YZ?

I think it's just deceiving cos of where that subframe mounts. I remember reading in just about every second MXA mag at the time, that the hot tip was to re-route the front brake line CR style.

This number 3 Kawi that Tortelli rode in the GP's wasn't very good to his mecanic.. I needed a new piston every heat, going trough 4 pistons a GP weekend.. The power was decent. Tortelli was by far the fastest rider that year.

Shorter shock shafts and longer pull rods I think, pretty common mod on the factory bikes.... JS/RC/CR have had it modded on a few bikes I've read tests on...

Pretty sure I read too that was to help in the whoops... The angle of the chain tensioned the rear more or some such shit...
