Me too! There was something so special about that time! It's crazy to think what these bike would be like now if everybody was developing them.

I think it is fair to say the energy drink sponsors have ruined the look of todays team bikes.

Peter, the same guy who bought my white/red YZ125 (above), also collects and restores older bikes (he has ALOT of exotic stuff laying around, including Mugen, Fox and factory Kayaba). But he also has a couple of more "modern" factory bikes sitting in his "museum".

Below is a never ridden Chesterfield/Rinaldi YZ125 and if I remember correctly, it was buildt for Bobby Moore (but ended up as a showroom bike). I really like the gastank, the dark gold colour on the rims against the black (would have been even cooler with some trick hubs on it) and how all the safety wiring is still on it!

He also has this RM250 from 2003, supposely ridden by Pichon, even if it has the wrong wheels in the photos and the numbers aren't correct (wasn´t Strijbos who had #200 during his first couple of GP seasons?). The bike has some one off, hand made, factory stuff on it.

Here is the first real competitive 2 stroke that started beating the big heavy 4 strokes of the late 50s and early 60s. 1961 Greeves MCS. Dave Bickers won the European Championship on one of these in 1960 and 61. It took me a year and half to restore.

I´m pretty sure that´s 97, even though the picture says 98.

The Bob Moore bike: Look at the seat, one would think the Yamaha guys back then would all have been castrated when riding Woohoo

I was actually trying to go off memory, rather than just that pic. But both 97 and 98's were so cool. Great era for sure.
