Made the mistake of buying Factory Effex's "Mag Series" complete wheel set a few years ago and the wheel bearings went bad. They are not compatible with stock or talon replacement kits and when you call them they straight up say we don't know what bearings went in them that was a long time ago. So I guess 1200 dollar wheel sets are just disposable as soon as the bearings go bad just throw them away.
Now that I'm done venting, can anyone help me find the right bearings?

Nor can they be measured with a caliper to find their size since they are really slippy-turney.
If only there was a way to classify these mystical objects... By some standard... We could release ourselves from the grip of evil companies like Factory Effex
The Shop
Edit : You could even take the rims and axle to a bearing supplier so they can see exactly what the issue is .
You guys need to chill, not everyone just magically knows bearing dimensions or has a caliper they can just whip out.
So you take the wheel(s) and axle to a shop and have the bearing seats measured, order the right bearings and press them in. Done.
Overacting about how your wheels are nothing more then a paperweight because the company couldn't help you isn't gonna get the problem fixed.

It's business man, people come and go, and I have a $100.00 the person he was talking to wasn't even working for Effexs when they had wheel sets.
Give you an Example, when I did my time at ONE Industries, I would get 2 or 3 phone calls a month from people asking specific questions from products 5 years or older, that were not only discontinued, but any paperwork with info was either discarded or in storage...I would do everything possible to help the customer, but when they want specific info that doesn't exist anymore, WTF is the employee suppose to do?
You gotta remember, moto companies aren't what they use to be with everyone in the office being a full of moto head...a lot of people working in the industry have NEVER ridden a dirt bike.
With all that being said, FX is top notch, both as a company and products...just because you can't get the info for a product that doesn't exist anymore doesn't mean you need to call em out in the title of the thread
But I'll note check your wheels more often, you had alot of play for the bearings to be that bad.
Also, they were not loose at all I had just checked them, had maybe 6 hours on them no joke.
Sorry for your issue OP, but FX does have top notch stuff. I get that you're mad, but those wheels have been discontinued for close to 5 or 6 years I believe. just do some searching and I'm sure you'll find bearings for those wheels
Get a set of digital calipers, you can do all these measurements with these. (youtube and google are your friend)
Measure the od of ur axle where the bearing inner race sits.
Measure the O.D.of where the bearing presses into and seats,
Measure the inner distance from where the bearing seats in the wheel, up to where it stops (width of bearing)
Take these numbers to bearing house, they are everywhere.
Someone will find you those bearings....I Promise you this :-)

I'd say 5 years use from a set of wheel bearings is pretty good.
Not that I don't believe your story, but a catastrophic failure is hard to believe. When wheel bearings start to wear they give you all kinds of clues that they're going bad. If true you're lucky you didn't get hurt. You're probably going to need a new brake rotor as well if the wheel was flopping around on bearings that completely failed.
Is it possible the catastrophic failure happened when you tried to remove the bearings from the hub? If so no big deal, we've all been there.
Factory Effex has always been great to me every time I've ordered from them. Great customer service. Fast shipping even with custom orders.
