Not allowing Arenacross racers to race the Supercross the next day, and visa versa...
Because of one of the team managers in Supercross crying about the arenacross
racers would have a advantage...? Its their only chance (Arenacross racers) to be
able to race Supercross.... Motofest in Atlanta is a disappointment for the fans
and racers...... Wish we knew what team manager was crying and not believing in
his own riders...

That is crap. You should be able to race if you qualify. Makes no sense. Track time or not.

Wait...you have to race AX to qualify for SX, but if you race AX full time you can't try SX? I doubt the 250 East SX guys are super worried...but I think it would definitely make the show a little more interesting for the weekend. Also need a cage match between Ralph/Jeff and Robby/Daniel. That could be the halftime show...

No, there's no rule against it in the rulebook for 2017.

I was bummed too, Perhaps only allow the top 5 AX guys to ride the next day.

This takes the fun out of it for me..

There is aledgidly a rule where you can't ride the track 72 hours in advance of the event.

Yet Factory riders run over half the track, including the tough rhythm section on press day THE DAY BEFORE THE RACE!

Total BS....

It appears I might be standing alone on this one but being able to practice, qualify, and race (multiple times) on the track the day before anyone else is a huge advantage as exemplified by how we always hear the question on RDL, "was being able to ride press day helpful?". I doubt this would have any effect on the top SX guys but it could have huge implications for all of the SX only privateers.

If they decided to do all SX qualifying in conjunction with AX qualifying I'd be much more open to it... although those racing AX would be able to experience the track fully deteriorated which then poses another situation.

Yeah if the reason is because of track time there should be no more press day riding.

Let's see how the weekend goes before you say it sucks.
Yeah, I'm bummed some of the AX guys can't ride SX (only a few wanted to), but this weekend is going to be epic.
If you are in that area, you need to go and check it out both nights.
I'm even staying for AM day Sunday.
It's going to be awesome.

Correct and it's pretty cut and dry. If you're able to learn the track the day before and some of the competition can't then that is exaculy an advantage.

It reminds me of Mike Alessi practicing up in Colorado one year on the track they were using one week out from one of the outdoors rounds.

I don't see what the big deal is, if Arenacross guys wanted to race Supercross, why not just race Supercross instead of Arenacross.Silly

Bashing Feld is so in right now.

Not sure that would be a decision for them to make. Sounds more like a sanctioning body decision.

How about if a bunch of SX guys wanted to race AX the night before? How would that go over?

Bashing Feld is not only "in" as you say, but very easy to do as well. Feld is a joke. No cussing needed..... their actions speak volumes. It's a shame that our sport is so blessed with the talents we have, yet this group of idiots gets to dictate what goes down. So sad..... There will come a day when somebody, or a group will gather together to say enough is enough.
To Hell with Feld.

With all due respect this is the same promoter that puts riders on a track with exposed ply wood, exposed 2x4's in ruts and chunks of concrete in sand sections.

They aren't doing much to help their image by putting the riders in more danger than they already are.

In addition, the ticket prices have gone up by as much as 150% in some cities compared to the prices in 2010.

Bashing Feld might be a trendy thing to do at this juncture, but I don't see Feld doing anything to mitigate these issues.

I don't want any trouble, though. Not trying to be disrespectful. Just trying to provide some insight from my personal point of view.

Btw...I have an idea. How about you take some Feld execs, and play with their salary? For instance, assign a group of them to each event they have on the schedule. Then, base their individual pay on how well the event went over based on their efforts. If it sold out out, fireworks were great, track was prime, no injuries, etc...., they would then be rewarded handsomely with say 3-5 grand for their hardworking souls busting their asses for that event. Seems fair to me, since that's all they care to hand over to the winner of their event they have promoted on a national level. I'd be ashamed if I handed our sports finest a limp dick check after a nights work with my company name signed at the bottom. Seems fair to me.....

It would just be awesome to see even more guys mix it up. I do feel like this is a bad move, but then again I don't make the decisions. Hopefully we see them change this in the future.

For the AX guys , its a virtual zero cost chance to step up and see where they are . They are at the stadium.. with their bikes .

Dumb rule.

So a team manager complains that it would be an advantage for the AX riders yet doesn't complain about the SX riders that get to ride on press day. That sure makes a lot of sense.

If you have a pro license then you should be allowed to line up and race. If SX guys want to race AX then let them. If AX guys want to line up for SX then let them. Complaining about a little extra track time for the AX guys is a joke. If the SX guys want extra track time then go race the AX guys the night before.

The advantage is so minuscule it's BS that it's even a consideration. Let the riders race whatever the hell they want. I was looking forward to seeing how the AX guys would do against the SX guys. This would have been a great weekend to see it. Obviously the decision makers, weather its Feld or AMA or crying team managers, are overthinking this, over sanctioning this, and taking the fun out of what could have been a great weekend of racing.

Rule schmule.

Are any of the AX guys just gonna dominate the SX?! And if they did, wouldn't that be a cool story.

This fucking sport can't get out of its own way sometimes.

Nothing new. Feld never gets it right. Nobody should watch. That will get their attention. Tell them why on Monday.
