Taking 2 riders after 4 or 6 laps is ridiculous.

Feld should take 8 out of the Heats and 4 out of the LCQs

I'd love to see the semi's back but I think that the majority, spectators included are happy to have a shorter program and get out of the stadium earlier than in the past.

away with the semi's - they were a nothing race. Agree 4 from the lcq would make some good racing

I don't know about that, It has really gotten short the last few years with the lap times under 1 minute. It's all about $$ though, get us in get our $$ and get us out.

semi's make it almost impossible for a top rider to miss the main. To have 3 qualifying races is ridiculous and unfair.

I would say more privateers make the main now due to mishaps from top riders in the heats and thats a good thing.

Losing one qualifying position isn't really going to make much of a difference but adding 2 more to the LCQ would. If they won't bring back the semi's then the above would be a perfect solution!

Hopefully it will be implemented for next season......maybe if the team managers all got together and made feld or the ama aware of this it might happen.

Agreed. They need to take 8 out of each heat and 4 out of the LCQ. If a marginal rider gets a bad start in the LCQ now, he pretty much quits on it.

But if you wanna bring back the semis run the qualifying like this

Heat - Top 4 advance
Semi - Top 5 advance
LCQ - Top 2 advance


NEW:

They can't take 8 from the heats and 4 from the LCQ....because that would leave 24 riders in the LCQ and there are only 22 gates.

Hey here is a novel concept, how about they fill the gate for the main. Every main event I have watched there have been open gates in the 450s. I am sure there are guys from the LCQ who would like to be out there racing!

Never in the 450 class but they did in the 250 class....they need to have 22 on the line for both classes and taking 4 out of the LCQ would be easy.

But in reality, the Shenzi plan is better that what it is now, or put 22 on the gate, and still only give points to the top 20! If you crash out have a mechanical, no points for you! I hate the guaranteed points just for making the main.

Not enough racing for me to take the time, trouble, and money to go and watch a supercross. If I go, I don't go to get out early-I go to see racing-as much as possible. And the semi's give us that. I'd go one step further to make the 250 class race 20 laps. Why is it only 15 at this point? If I suggested 25 laps for the 450 class, everyone would probably lynch me, but what is an extra 4 minutes, really? With the class the way it is right now, I think it would be 5 more great laps to watch!
