Funny to read all this. I have been riding Hondas for 10 years with the 2008 CRF450 as the best bike I´ve ever had. Have had a hard time adapting to the 2009 and 2010 CRF450 so went for a 2011 YZ450F this season. On first ride I felt right at home. Bike felt so much more predictable than the 09/10 crf450. Sure the suspension can sometimes be a little tricky to dial in but that is the case on most brands. But when everything is dialed in, this bike is a dream to ride !

I truly deeply can´t understand this trashtalk going on regarding this bike ?

I have ridden Yamahas my entire life. My last one was an 06 YZ450 and i loved it (still have it). But i recently bought a 2011 YZ450 and it is AMAZING! I wish i could afford to do a few things (suspension revalve/resprung for obese fat ass and maybe hire someone to change air filters for me) but overall it is the best bike I have ever ridden....by a mile.

I was talking to a few pro's who rode (Notice RODE) yz 450's and said they just felt weird and never got completely comfortable on them. And I noticed a difference in the way they were riding ( because they are local) and I just don't think it jells with MOST people.

Just an odd bike that's hard to set up much like the KTM without linkage.

well i'm not a spring chicken or badger or anything else ..........just a regular smo over 30 rider and i'm kickin a_ _ on the 2011 yz 450 .......i know what they are saying but the bike is bad ass .....i see local pros killing it on the new bike ..........when i first bought i carried both bikes to the track 2008 yz450 and 2011 i would only ride my 08 then my buddy told me to committ and i did and that bike takes some getting used to so after about ten laps i liked it and sold the 08 ..........been killing it ever since comfortably

I have a relative that races local Pro classes when they pay well and is a top Int the rest of the time.

He was timed at his local practice track on his '10 YZ450 that was dialed and he had ridden for about 6 months. He then took his new '11 CRF450 out and instantly was 2-2.5 seconds a lap faster.

This reverse cylinder deal is going to bite Yamaha and eventually the idea is going to have to go the way of the 5 valve head.

I don't jell on one and i've talked to a few pros that have ridden them that have the samefeeling but a few that love it, different bikes jell with different people. I see allot more vet riders and intermediates that like them then percentage for the pros
