So if JGR goes Suzuki (could stay Yamaha but lets say they jump ship), L&M rumored going green, Motoconcepts rumored going red, who does that leave riding blue? Just Metal Mulisha and Valli? Any info on their potential riders who can challenge for podiums? Now I ride kawi's but it is going to be sad to see such a successful brand barely crack into the top 5 on a good night against one of the most stacked fields in history. I'm only talking 450's by the way, 250f's is a different story.

The 450s are turds. With the riding styles now where everyone is whipping and scrubbing those new yz450f's are just slugs

Interesting points you have there. If JGR did leave Yamaha, who will they go after? I'm thinking they might go after one of the big names that hasn't confirmed what brand they are riding as yet. hmmmm

I wonder what their strategy is? They had a lot of blue out there outdoors this year but all from 6th-15th. Millsaps, Brayton, Hahn, Dietrich, Chisholm, Wey etc. and Stroupe, Peick, Regal indoors. Of course Stewart.

If all these guys aren't pumped on the bike, someone still has to ride it. There are only so many rides to go around and riders need jobs. Hahn probably won't be back on one even if he wanted it.

Very nice response. Love the symbolic representation. Yamaha does things thier own way. Mono shock in the 70's, front mounted radiator in 80's, YZ400F in 90's, reverse engine in 2000's.

Star Racing is on Yam's and I think they'll be "Teaming up" w/ another "Yamaha" team and adding 450s to the program.

I know DV has been either riding or working on/with Yamaha's forever, I'd be really interested to hear his point of view of the evolution of the blue turd as you guys call it.

This is really the most thought provoking thread ive come across on here in awhile...I find it interesting that the teams are literally walking away from yamaha... I personally believe that, at the very top level of riding something is goin on with the bike that most of us mortals really cant comprehend. Its also one thing is a rider is blaming the bike, but when teams are leaving it behind along with riders there is something seriously going on.

wawazat- its really easy to think you've never ridden at a fast pace before or know that the bikes handle differently the faster you go.

No shit. Milsaps and Tedesco both acted like they didn't think it was that bad. I don't think I've read anything about Bubba actually coming out and saying he didn't like it though.

if you think about it, most pros dont bad mouth the bikes at all. the only ones that come to mind are of course Reed, and Mike Larocco. Bubba said some stuff about the KX but that seems like karma may have bit him in the ass. that KX won villo the SX championship. and it won his dumbass 24 motos in 08 OUTDOORs! and now outdoors must scare him after that unadilla debacle on the revolutionary yamaha. now his bike actually does suck.

James was able to do things on the Yamaha that Dungey, Reed, and Poto, couldn't do. Remember the quad he did at Anaheim last year? I seem to remember James wrecking himself on the KX too. It's always been win or crash with that guy, not matter what flavor bike he is on.

The Yamaha works for some, but others can't deal with it's turning traits.

It's not a "bad bike" per say, but for some, but it can be a nightmare for others when talking about pro level racing.

Not everyone gels with every bike.

I noticed in the outdoors Dietrich did much better last year on the Kawie. He really dropped back this year.

All that matters is what did Jody and the MXA wrecking crew say about the bike? Four stars?

They suck so bad that an MX2 rider won a moto in the MX3 class at the des Nations. And multiple rounds of the GP's from their factory riders. Im still convinced, like the 350, it depends more on the riders style than the bike.

It also took the top 2 positions in the 450 class over here (with Marmont and Coppins). Although, Coppins did say in the PulpMX podcast that its a tricky bike to get set up properly
