The question in this thread was if Emig's intensity comment was accurate, and Roczen himself has said it is true during interviews, so there's not much to argue on that front. He has to adjust to the intensity in the AMA from the gate drop to checkers. That doesn't mean the AMA pace is necessarily faster, it just means they race differently - probably because they have 15mins less to get the job done than the GP boys so when the gate drops they have to go now.

The thing that is inaccurate, is saying that Roczen is the "fastest MX2 rider on the planet" right now. Maybe last year you could argue he was but this year he isn't. Tomac and Barcia have gotten faster this year and Baggett is more consistent. Roczen is ONE of the fastest MX2 riders on the planet, along with Baggett, Tomac, Barcia, and Herlings.

Given there has been 4 races and 3 different overall winners (and Herlings winning most of the races overseas), I think there isn't a single standout 250 rider. There are 5 of them... with Marvin and Searle right behind them.

What an awesome group of MX2 riders. Add the MX1/450cc class with guys like Stewart, Canard, Villopoto, Dungey, Reed, Rattray, Cairoli, Desalle, Frossard, Philippaerts, Pourcel, Paulin and we have a pretty cool era.

Damn why don't we have a mini series with three round in USA and three in Europe, or even better 10 rounds mixed throughout the World. Australia, USA a couple, Belgium, England, France, Brazil, New Zealand and some other cool places. Now that would be the best series in the World.

All we would need is another 3 months in the year and it's possible.................

We did. It's was called the Trans Am.

See. Every "new" and "innovative" idea today is just an early 80s American MX re-tread.

Actually it was Trans-Am in the 70's when Roger made us look like the back side of a horse, by the 80's it was Trans-AMA then by 83ish it was gone.

USA versus the World has been around since dot, although I must admit us Aussie hold our own against you lot in just about every sport there is, be it Speedway, MotoGP, Formula One, Indycars or most other sports.

I am 51 I know about the trans-Am, although I did say wouldn't it be nice to have a series like that NOW.

I liked Emig as a rider but as a pundit I think he waffles garbage most of the time, and I don't just mean his American supremacist comments.

You will hear that "came here to race the best" from nearly every American. Problem is they believe it..........American's know how to make something look cool, and no doubt Youthstream are working hard to try and make the GP riders look cooler, because at the end of the day that is why riders to go America, because it looks cool in magazines and on television. I love American sports because you guys really make it exciting. During the second moto of the MX1 yesterday in Portugal there was a four day battle for the lead and Paul Malin was talking like it was just another race. Now had that been an AMA National you would have thought it was the second coming of Jesus.

Yanks know how to make things look cool, no doubt about it.

oh my, a little festering boil of sore losers is congregating over here.

What will it take for you guys? We win MXoN damn near every year. You send your golden boys Marv-o and Roczen over here and look what happens?

What will it take? What in the world has the Netherlands ever produced other than mediocrity? and the UK? We have your number every year. We have your number, your name, your email address, we pretty much have you completely covered.

Funny how Emig and Weedge were going on and on about the intensity of Barcia, Tomac & Baggett whilst at the same time Roczen was schooling them building up a 9 sec lead, only to throw it away with a silly crash with 2 laps to go and get held up by Kyle peters before Tomac found his way through!

They were so intense, perhaps concentrating on each other too much, they nearly forgot about Roczen!

Musquin and Roczen are not my golden boys - I am English. Please stop the generalisation, it just reiterates your ignorance to the fact that Europe is made up of many Countries, all may be smaller than the USA but a few of which have owned your asses.

And I don't mind losing to the Americans, or anybody else for that matter regardless of the sport, even the French can kick our ass it's fine. I prefer them to actually be educated, this my friend is where you lose every time.

for now I think Musquin is being smart, he is a calculating rider and he a big picture style guy, always has been. Get him to full fitness and actually participating in the series rather than watching and he will become a podium guy/winner - it's a good thing that there are so many guys capable of takinig the win - the 250 is a hot class right now and very cool to watch.

Lets see, You come to vital to tell us how the FIM, the Euro riders are equal and better but as 2 stroke Taliban says, you are completely owned in the US in every way including, way of life, prosperity and opportunity. Even your fastest riders want to race here... not there.

Then because you have nothing and are grasping at straws you pull out something like education because you think that the testing standards for America in schools when compared to Europe prove that your education system is better and that Americans are stupid.

Well lies lies and statistics. Every American child gets the same education up through high school. Euros test their kids in elementary school. If you don't do well on the tests you are sent to a trade school, all your stupid people are weeded out, any further education for those people are eliminated even to collage. Your "smart" people are then compared to every American child in scholastic tests. But American children include illegal immigrants who in classes who struggle with speaking english and they are rolled into our testing results. We will never win this race or statistic, but that is ok

America is here and is the best and we dominate Europe in just about every way because we are smart, not because we are uneducated.

By the way, I like it that my name is in your sig, I know I am either very important to you or I piss you off beyond your ability to reason. I kind like that. LOL

You cleary have no grasp on our education system.

The test which decided which school you went to, in England was called the 11+, that ended a long time ago and everyone goes from primary school, to secondary school (high school) no exceptions. I went through it, you are talking complete rubbish.

And Europe is a very diverse place, please stop generalising.

I no longer regret my username.

Are you are the shining beacon of light in the U.S education system Carlos? If so I fear for the future. I was not insulting the American education system - it was a friendly gripe @ 2stroke, not the States in general bud.

BTW I am sorry I had no idea Vital was a USA thing only, I thought .com was global - shall we all leave?

Oh and what is a trade school? Can you enlighten me?

LOL

The saddest thing of all, is that you truly believe all that.....

If you were educated, you would know this. LOL

He also talks a lot of nonsense.

I liked Emig as a rider but as a pundit I think he waffles garbage most of the time, and I don't just mean his American supremacist comments.

Careful with the EMIG bashing boys!!! Hes a MOTO GOD!!!!! you are not

That doesn't make him a decent commentator though. David Bailey is infinitely better than Emig, even Jimmy Albertson was better than Emig when he commented on the MXdN at Colorado.

Like I say, I was an Emig fan in the 90's. I even preferred him to McGrath, but he does talk a lot of rubbish when he's on air. He even makes up his own words and the amount of times he incorrectly predicts what a rider is going to do is hilarious.

Well, things have changed in England and my perceptions may be based on old data but the fact that you guys keep changing your system is very telling, but it is still a mess with more changes coming in 2013 and further out. Talk about confusing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Education_in_England But that is ok, I am American, I don't care about England's education system, but when comparisons come, the US is not on top because it is uneducated.

Yes, Europe is a very diverse place, and the Americans still beat your top riders. LOL

Vocational training (trade school hahahaaa) and education are 2 different things pal. And it's not stupid people that go to those places as you so eloquently put it, again you show your blind ignorance and downright stupidity to anybody willing to view it. Seriously what goes through your mind saying stuff like that?

I love reading your posts, I reckon that Gump fellow should have used you in his comments instead of the whole box of chocolates thing.

And for the millionth time I really don't actually care about the MXDN, I care more about Pourcel beating Cairoli than that, honestly.
