It's all about winning and getting the most points so you can win the championship. Brilliant.

Because it's so easy to fill time in a live broadcast. I think Emig is great in the booth.

what the hell is wrong with you? they guy has overcome a severe speech impediment and has openly talked about his insecurities with it.... he has to work his ass off daily to keep on top of it. more importantly, he is one of the better commentators that we have had regardless of his speech challenges.

are you the kind of person who also makes fun of people that are overweight? how about people who have birth defects? the one thing that overweight or people with birth defects have in common with emig is that they are aware of it and are self-consious of it... just like people who have speech challenges. don't think for a second that if jeff read this that he wouldn't be offended embarrassed to a certain degree even if it was something as simple as being a little redundant... again he grew up being very self-consious of his ability to speak.

my guess is if you actually met him in person you would piss all over yourself, get his autograph and then go rub one out.

maybe think before you make fun of someone for something they can't exactly help. jeff is a great commentator.

+1

Emig was on point tonight, like when Ralph was talking about Nelson's inside lines and Emig pointed out that those inside lines were 2 seconds slower than Coop and that wasnt going to cut it if he wanted the win.

I like Ralph too btw, He has a great voice and really good excitement in his voice but he just needs to let the analyst talk more.

Emig is doing a great job, I wish the other two would stop talking most of the time.

It was just a joke and a quote, y'all didn't have to turn it into an apple polishing contest.

It doesn't even compare to some of the grudenisms on the NFL broadcasts. My favorite: "anything can happen on any given Sunday, especially on Monday night"

DP show even made a shirt out of it, haha

This is going to get kind of personal, but it goes perfectly with what some of you are taking about. I am not trying to speak for Emig, nor would I ever, but it's just some insight.

I am a stutterer and I have gone through a program like Emig has. I don't know what he did or how he did it, but I know the time and dedication that it takes to speak fluently. I spent 14 straight days in Virginia with HRCI a few years ago and my speech was never the same. I am a high school math teacher so I get to practice my targets every day in the classroom, which is where I do most of my speaking. Guys like Emig have it harder when they can't practice in the booth in front of millions live. I can't imagine doing that. Another hard part about being a stutterer, more fluent or less, is that we have to think about what we are going to say and how we are going to say it.

While I can't speak for Emig, stuttering does not leave the body or go away once fluency is attained. Even if you, the listener, don't notice it, it's all we feel when we talk, especially if you are on target. He may not have done the HCRI program like I did, but whatever he does is similar to what I do when I speak.

I grew up not caring what people thought about my speech. I differ from most stutterers in this matter. People, non stutterers, are more afraid of public speaking than death or spiders. If you want to know what stuttering is, become a researcher and find out, please. We have theories but don't know.

On a side note, how about the girl on the podium asking cooper Webb how he felt about winning his first "championship."

Thanks, my original plan was a complete restoration, but it's all original and has a great patina, good condition too. Been acquiring all the NOS parts I can.

Wow, this is low. A simple redundancy is enough to make you start a new thread?

Pretty funny, no one said anything about how he talks. it was funny because he was so serious like he was going to have some point to his rambling and all he said was its about winning. What else would it be about losing? The folks with brains got it. Bama205 hell you took the time to post in my horrible thread, Ain't nothing low about my thread, haha

I was a huge Emig fan back in his Kawasaki heyday, well actually I still am, and regardless of that, I like the current commentators better than any of the previous ones. I liked David Baily and Art Eckman second best but I like Emig, Ralph, and Ricky the best! Perfect combo IMO! I just love when Ricky makes up new words like "Preperate" LOL. And someone mentioned making Jenny a Monster Girl? Hell no... She's beautiful while being classy. Keep her as-is. Wink
