Used to go to this place back in the 80's. Does anyone know what it is like today?

Been camping and riding there since the sixties.
Far less total area, but still all around fun!

How does it compare to the 80's? A friend of mind told me that you can mostly only ride on the lake. I hope that is not true. I want to take my wife there and show her around. I loved that place.

You can ride all over the place out there. The only difference is they have a ranger station and you'll need to pay a day use fee, or camping fee if that's your gig.

If you really want to show her a good time, keep heading North on 395 and go to Randsburg. Stay at one of Goat Breker's cabins, or in the hotel he owns there, Goat's Sky Ranch. Tell him I sent you!

Hi, Walter!
Troy Lee's Grandfather used to hold speed records at El Mirage (in the fifties?).
You can see photos of Marvin Lee in Troy's boutique in Laguna.

Go there during the week and look for some white, unmarked box vans. It just might be Honda testing stuff. I used to spend a couple weeks at a time out there with them for ATV development. That was a few years ago though. Not sure if they still go there. Really cool place, especially when you are from Ohio. Nothing like that around here (Ohio) for sure.

Growing up down there it wasn't out of the norm to head to places like El Mirage, Jawbone Canyon, Redrock, Bean Canyon, etc... and run across a Honda box van with Bob Hannah and friends out riding. Bobs uncle lived at the base of either Bean or Redrock, been so long I forgot which one, but I always loved driving by his place. Those were the days!
