Suzuki rmz s seem to be the only factory that still comes with a hot start lever stock from the factory. Anybody know the reason why, now adays these bikes start pretty good.

Yeah , my 2010 Yami didn't have one either. I had thought since the bikes had switched over to the EFI they didn't need one any more. I didn't know the RMZ still had one.....do the 2011 RMZ's have them?

Must be something different on how the EFI works when it's hot on a Suzuki. Seems odd.....but hey....if it works , it works!

How is that machine, Torco ?

Me want one. Mine's a well-worn 08.

And I still dig it.

I love it. I had an 08 CRF250 that was all done up.....suspension, some motor goodies, and other little bolt on gimmicks and the kawi right out of the box was pretty close to to being as good if not better than my Honda was with all that stuff done. Now that I have some time on the KX and have been able to set it up to how I like it, it is an awesome bike. I dont really have too many complaints yet. The suspension is a little complicated at first with all the adjustments, but once you get it dialed, its pretty damn good.

The only newer bike I wasnt able to ride was the Suzuki (and of course thats the one everybody seems to like) The Kawasaki just seemed to fit me the best, it feels really stable and solid when I ride it. Even when jumping it just seems to want to balance itself out when in the air. The other bikes were better in different areas, but for me the Kawi just feels like an all around "race bike". I know they all are race bikes and thats a weird term to use, but it's just fast and the faster and harder you ride it, the more stable it feels. It almost feels like a 450 in some situations. I was really impressed with the power of it. I still have the stock exhaust on it, I havent decided on which one to go with yet. I do have some different sprockets that I change out depending on the track. I've been talking with the suspension guys here in SoCal to see what I should do with it, but since its so new there isnt a whole lot of testing and set-ups in place. I'll probably have Steve at Shock Therapy do it for me, he's always done really good work on all my bikes in the past.

I was looking into getting a new 250f, Don t know if i m too bigfor the bike 6 1 200lbs, don t want a big bore kit, don t know if i want a 2 stoke, Skill level is decent, i have a 450 but the new 250 s are really good. Do you think i would be dissapointed in a 250f, hate to drop the cash and not want to ride it!

I've always had either 250 2-strokes or 450 4-strokes, so I've always been use to having the power. In 08 I got the CRF250 and was pretty impressed with the power, especially with the power to weight ratio. They are just easier to go faster on because you can manhandle the hell out of them. The newer EFI 250f's are a lot faster than my 08 was. I have a couple of friends that have 05 CRF 450's and when riding their bikes and my 11" Kawi back to back at the track, I would chose the newer 250f any day of the week over an older 450........thats how good the power of the newer 250f's are getting.

Cool thanks for the info, i ll do a little more research, they should have some more shootouts coming up soon, and hope i can ride a few at a local track to make a decision guess i ll need stiffer springs and maybe add tooth or 2 to the rear? My buddy put a pipe on his 2010 kawy and loves it 4.1 megabomb, have nt had a chance to ride it yet! Good set up, i know PC makes a great system for the Kawy. How do you compare your 250f to the 250 2 stroke?easier same?

You're doing the right thing, I've noticed that you've been researching this for a while.....so that's good. Pipes can really make a difference, especially on the 250f's......even though a lot of people will say they are a waste of money.

Appreciate the tips man, did you feel when you got the 250f you like it better than the 250 2 stroke? IMO both great bikes, just different!

Here are my thoughts on it, the 2-stroke is a great bike......but whether we like it or not it is going away. I still race and to be competitive I knew I needed to be on a 4-stroke. I really did see the disadvantages after a while of being on the 2-stroke......and believe me, I was one of the last guys out there on a 2-stroke. However, riding a 2-stroke for a long as I did I feel it gave me a big advantage when switching over because I was able to ride the 250 pretty aggressively, I was riding it like I was still riding a 2-stroke. To answer your question, yes I really did like the 250f better than the 250 2-stroke. But it was because of riding a 2-stroke for so long that allowed me to like it so much. It just made it so easy to go fast and smooth.
