I would love to have that 88 though. If I had the $$$ and I got it, I honestly think I'd have to ride it!
The Shop
I'd buy the 125 if I had the cash.
having to sell these bikes is like someone selling their superbowl ring or olympic medal... it just ain't right...
I appreciate these bikes massively for what they are, like you, but they look like Harley's more than dirtbikes, to mine eyes.

The 84 and 85 true "works" bikes can never be duplicated, I am sure they will find a good home. I wish that home was my garage, but the checkbook does not agree (and I did ask, but it just laughed...).
~Jeff asked me to help to sell his bikes when we worked together at Farleigh this last year,we agreed that a good percentage of the potential buyers would be worldwide for such machines (for example the KX500 we built for Ryno sold to South Africa and the Lechein bikes sold to Holland).
His reasons for selling them are his business alone.
As i am somewhat experienced in shipping bikes i offered to help sell the bikes for Jeff and i can arrange the shipping and international money transfers and tax liability's in whatever country such a deal incurs .
Obviously jeff would have to agree any deals and have the cleared funds in his account before the bikes leave TLD.
I bought the KX500SR 1990 for my personal collection,(that's number 16 and counting).
In my experience the riders involved in selling a works bike don't see them as a magical mystery machine like the rest of us,its simply a tool that allowed them to perform-to do their job if you like as they put their neck on the line and ultimately its the riders skill and determination that won a championship.
Its no different to me showing off 12mm wrench and saying that was responsible for the rebuild of a KX500,its simply a tool to get the job done at the end of the day.
Even with my network of connections i felt it best to put a price on them and advertise them on ebay-not on an auction but a classified ad-post the details on some of the worldwide forums and see what happens,we have a couple of offers ive already submitted to jeff.
The bikes belong in a museum but in the end it'll be private collectors who will own them, and will cherish them for what they are.
-plus its a better investment than simply having the cash in the bank-at least these will put a smile on your face!
here's a pic of wardy with his (actually mine now) 1990 bike.
Cheers,rob walters
