Charlie Mullins is racing the same model on the KTM Factory Offroad team and has had a mechanical issue almost every time out.

Are you guys nervous at all about his bike holding up outdoors?

(This isn't meant as a bash at KTM at all, I think what they've accomplished the last few years is pretty damn impressive, but so far when put under stress for a longer amount of time the new model SX hasn't faired so well....)

As a fan of Dungey, I'm much more worried about James Stewart...

As a fan of James Stewart, I worried about the overwhelming success Dungey had this year in Supercross on that KTM...

Let the games begin!!!

Almost positive Mullins isn't on the Dungey replica.. He tried it in the first and possibly the second round of the Enduro series but did indeed dnf.. After that he went back to the same bike he captured the GNCC Title on last year... I'm not an insider but I believe I read this at the beginning of the year but I guess its possible they may have tried it again with encouragement from KTM..

I don't follow that series.

What kind of mechanicals is he having? Same ones over and over, electronics?

But with Roger doing his thing in the background, I'm really not worried.

No. If I was a JS fan, I'd be really worried about that Suzuki.

One of a kind avatar slipdog! not many "EARN" their avatar.

And NO. Not any more worried than any other brand. The bikes these days have become more complicated and that adds more variables that are harder to control.

The same Suzuki that RD won his only titles on? Honestly I'm not worried about either bike but also understand mechanical problems will happen. Part of what makes it exciting to me.

Yep, being the fastest man on the planet, he better pay attention to where he is at on the track when the 30 minute buzzer goes off. He could end up putting in an extra lap.

My understanding is that the 450FE uses basically the same frame as the regular 450, but with modified cradle for the different engine. In that case I would think most of the suspension knowledge they gained last year with the linkage 450 would translate pretty readily.
As far as the engine... well it never seems like coaxing power out of a 450 is a problem if it doesn't have enough.

But I think that's what will make this year really interesting -- Dungey and RD having to work through the new bike as well as Stewart coming in on a proven but new-to-him bike. Bet we will see a lot of refinements over the course of the series.
Honestly, RV and Reed on the machines that they knew so well from last year probably could have cleaned up the first few rounds (at least) because they would have been able to hit the ground at 100 percent.

Nope... not worried at all. I'm sure everybody will experience some bike problems at one point or another but no I'm not worried.

I've heard similar things, but woods riding is nothing like moto. Two completely different kinds of abuse to the bike.

I'd have to believe Roger has the bike under tight control, and more than ready for action.

The best thing that can happen for the fans is to have Ryan and James on top of their game, both bikes working great, and bar banging battles every week.

Can't wait.

Pretty sure he is on Nagls factory bike from last year. Also, Paulins factory Kawi didn't start for the second moto last weekend so all bikes are susceptible.

Not concerned about the bike at all. Now let's take this a step further and consider that both Dungey and Stewart & their bikes perform at the top level. Which tracks will each rider excell on or have an edge over the other?

Hangtown Motocross Classic, Sacramento, CA

Freestone Raceway, Wortham, TX

Thunder Valley Motocross Park, Lakewood, CO

High Point Raceway, Mt. Morris, PA

Budds Creek Motocross Park, Mechanicsville, MD

RedBud, Buchanan, MI

Spring Creek MX Park, Millville, MN

Washougal MX Park, Washougal, WA

Moto-X338 Motocross, Southwick, MA

Unadilla, New Berlin, NY

Steel City Raceway, Delmont, PA

Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park, Lake Elsinore, CA

I thought that about the avatar too! But I guess you had to see the 'movie' to appreciate it..... Wink

Sometimes you have to earn things the hard way!

It's been 2 weeks and I'm already getting around without the walking cast, just in time for Hangtown next week. I'll be riding again in another 2 and don't plan on changing that avatar anytime soon... Whistling
