"THE" most consistent ride in the history of our sport. I don't understand some of the guys on this site that seem to base the season on just one race. Cracks me up... Dungey will be just fine. Wink

Dungey is boring, but he is always on the podium, and racking up championship points. Very consistent and smart rider, without a lot of flash like other riders.

Kind of my point! So he doesn't win every race and all the sudden the torch is passed or roczen crash is in his head. It's almost like people don't even watch the entire series year after year. His results are nearly identical every year and the end result is the same.

He's up by 17 points. Still has room to do his thing. If ET keeps it up though, the Dunge will have to call the Diesel Brothers for that extra gear.

Why's he boring? Because he's so damn smooth, makes limited mistakes, consistently on the podium and racks up championships? I don't think that's boring at all. He will go down in history as an all time great. That, to me, isn't boring at all.

Who underestimates Dungey as being an odd's on favorite to win a title, year after year, indoors or out?

After Dungey won in 2010. People always discredit Dungey, but he was the points leader when Villopoto crashed out of the championship. Villo was better in 2011-2014, but Dungey legitimized an entire manufacturer during that same time frame.

Dungey has a bad rap because there was never a passing of the torch from rv to him. Hes only winning because rv retired and were waiting on the next generation to step up. Its a sad reality but its the hard truth.

So how long do you douches have to wait for the next big thing? The Dunge won the previous two years convincingly and has a 17 point lead in this championship only a few rounds in.

Kenny can't keep it on two, Tomac is inconsistent at best, moose can doesn't quite have it, Anderson is on the ground. Who else is there?

Dungey is a badass for sure but I also find him boring. His riding style and personality just aren't as much fun as many of the other guys past and present. I don't underestimate him though, dude is always gonna be a threat for a title or win on any given night.

Whats with the rude tone? Really unnecessary.

You cant take away anything dungey has. Im just saying he hasnt beat the previous champ to gain that extra "wow" factor. Look at the race tonight for example. If dungey just quit the race in 1st place would it be nearly as cool for tomacs win? Hell no.

I think you should go back and look that up. He's NOT the flashy guy or the guy who makes a lot of waves or goes all crazy on the social media sites, but he's always been one of the fastest guys in the race. Do your homework, I think you'll be surprised.

Yup, one of the fastest in the race because an RV, tomac or roczen etc is on the sidelines.

Just answering a question OP had on why some underestimate him, so don't get offended when people answer. But it typically seems like he's the next best thing after a faster rider hurts himself (not Dungey fault, of course), coupled with having zero personality and incredibly standard riding style, it's no wonder race followers don't have Dungey at the top of their list at the start of a season...
