Jumping SIDEWAYS...what happened? Do you sometimes have a, chilly in the shorts kind of surprise, lol, when jumping and all of a sudden you find yourself sideways in the air. Well, you're not the only one. How to avoid this hair raising surprise is a common question. Here's what's happening.

Ever since I got tall this shit happens to me a lot! Harder to keep the bike clamped i've found. When I was a kid if I swapped it was fine, whatevs, just pin it and lock legs into the tank. Now–I've highsided quite a few times as an older bloke. Not cool!

In order to control this sideways pitch you have to move your body position the opposite way that the bike is going sideways, it's a kind of counterbalance to maintain the center of balance.

See in this photo how far my left knee is away from the bike.

My bike does that too...except the softest spot sometimes turn out to be me.
