Does anyone else feel like the Outdoors 450 class could be kinda thin?

No Kenny, possibly no Dungey, no Reed (though he has been a non factor or not there for years), neither Stewart brother, no Milsaps, no Alessi and late arrivals in Canard, Pieck, Seely coming off injuries..

Hopefully I'm not stating the obvious.

I'm excited and hoping for some great racing but to me this could possibly be the thinnest 450 class Outdoors in a while.

Thoughts?

I hope RD5 is there just to increase the depth.

Can't argue with that assessment. Hope 5 stick around. Anyone other that possibly 25 give Eli a challenge regularly?

The 4 will be good I think

Eli might get beat a few times by someone like Marvin or Baggett. That being said I think if Eli can keep it rubber side down he is going to win a lot of motos. Even if the 450 class is really thin and its a one man show atleast we should have the 250s to look forward to, there is a ton of guys who can win on any given day in that class.

I think it's crucial Webb, Anderson and Barcia have strong seasons. Becoming a JA21 fan. Dude is just fun to watch.

Barring injury, Eli takes this pretty easy I think. But I'm talking just the lack of depth after the top 5. Maybe I'm wrong. Hope I am.

I'd go..

Hand surgery. I think both hands?

Tomac is s no brainer...but I think we'll see some strong rides from Baggett , Webb , Marv and Ando too.

Outdoors is always thin. No different than any other year. Usually 2 guys going at it for a little bit.

Will be the Tomac show this year.

Then the next level guys. No particular order.

Musquin
Baggett
Anderson
Webb
Barcia (probably a top 5 guy again)

Then the next level:
Seely
Grant (healthy, top 10 guy)
Tickle
Wilson
Peick
Bloss
Brayton

Outdoors have mostly been thin in the last years (at least 450).

Nicoletti finished 5th in points and only had one top5 all season. About 350 points behind Kenny though (with 600 possible points).

Next year should be better though IF some of the 250 guys move up

Eli could very well go 24-0 without surprising me. If he doesn't, I say it's because of bike problems or eating shit. Not because someone else is faster, which we saw in SX that no one else is faster when he's feeling comfy.

Sure, there will be riders up there in the mix, none of which will be quite on the level that Eli rides at.

Just to stir the hornets nest that is vital....

Whoever wins the championship (assuming no dungey) will get an * beside their title. B/c they didn't beat last years champion.

If I was in the states, I'd be happy to take a wager that he doesn't win all the motos that aren't affected by bike problems. If he eats shit, its his own problem.

But will there be a double asterisk for who ever wins the title because they're taking the title away from someone who also didn't beat the previous years champion?

I'm hoping Seely can get back in his groove outdoors. Was it last year or the year before he was mixing it up in the front? I had him pegged as an also ran when he moved up to the 450 but he's really surprised me.

There needs to be a chase format after Eli wraps the Championship up with Five races left to go. That's if Dungey doesn't race ! It could be boring watching Eli rip moto win after moto win. Than again it could be fun watching Eli rip off 24 moto wins.

Looking pretty thin at the top. Dungey is done and maybe Tomac will sit this one out to learn some manners.
If that were to happen we would have a hell of a series.

Right now it's looking like the 250's will have a deeper talent pool. Might be wise for some of the 10-30 place lites riders to move up

Dungey is announcing his retirement tomorrow. I wish I didn't have to work this summer!

If he goes undefeated, that's awesome on it's own, no reason to cheapen the sport with a gimmick like the chase format.

Who cares. When it comes to outdoors, the 250 class steals the show for me
