I would like to take my dad to the Daytona SX but I need a safe place to leave my great dane puppy, Bullitt (He's a Steve McQueen fan.)

He's a good boy and pretty laid back. Definately a chick magnet. He can talk moto, politics, or religion with the best of them. He likes cats (one per day) and plays well with dogs.

Last resort could be a boarding place for animals, some of them are pretty nice, some not so much! Check the area.

You could always put an orange vest on him and say he's your seeing eye dog and just take him to the races with you.

I got hurt at the X Games and haven't been riding since, except a little bit of trail riding where I don't use my knee much.

I do have a service vest for him! I used to take my other dane (Nimitz) everywhere. I just don't know how the seating is at Daytona.

Yeah, getting a vote from me may not always be in your best interest...! But he's still a cool pup, man, good choice!

I used to have a merle (blue and black) years ago. Great Danes are just that... great!

That's what I was thinking...just make sure you spray paint "Service Animal: Do Not Pet or Feed" on the vest.

Marco Island is nice, check out the Marriot Hotel they have a cool bar on the beach called Quinns with a live band and great food.

Leave him at the dog track...he might win you some money. Just teach him about the first corner take out moves, and I think he can beat the greyhounds.

Lovely looking dog, not massively keen on ear docking though Sad is it still common in the States?

Thank you!

Ear cropping is still common among breeders and such here. In fact, the dogs ears are supposed to stand up naturally, it is humans that bred the floppy ears into dog breeds. Not only is it healthier for the dog but it's not much different than getting a baby boy circumcised, they are so young that they don't remember the pain.

After the X Games, Nimitz fell out of the van and his back problems got worse. I was on crutches and he couldn't get himself off the floor. After a couple of weeks I decided to put him down. One of the saddest days of my life. He was only 3 years old but he lived a good life.

If you were coming back to Marco I would be able to take him. Animals usually eat first in this house and my wife's best friend is a vet that runs a very successful clinic here. Our dogs get along with all other dogs as well or he could have his own room. We are in Fort Myers and you would be passing by on I75 just north of there. But I am sure you are leaving town from the race so it would not work out. I wish I could help.

Sorry to hear about Nimitz. Looked like a great friend. I always say it is too bad they don't outlive us with all the love they give.

Nimitz was a great dog. My wife and kids enjoyed hanging with him at GH last year. Sorry to hear about this...
