The one who won the event was the one who could hold it together the best.....mentally,physically,mechanically &speed wise.
The Shop
no ones to blame. just is how a race unfolds.
USA won hands down even with two bad moto finishes.
Pit Row
Rider of the day goes to K.Roc though for me.. What a way to step up.
Given that the US wasn't nearly as dominant as I would have expected. I'd say that France won the race to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. But the US gave them a very good battle.
Maybe you need a hobby, or a life?
props to the americans to keep it together as a team and work for the goal......and i saw some early critics to roger d for not being american...!!!!!!!!!
but the other countries showed great young racers that can take on the best anytime......roczen, herlings, searle, paulin, roelants, etc, earned respect from the americans and since america has a bunch of young guns also......this level or better of motocross racing is sured for the future......
the french went in the last moto needing a 2º and a 4º, if usa got a 1º and a 3º.......pourcell crashed, they were already hurting with his 11º, and with his crash paulin just lost it and cruised to the finish.......so usa wont it clear, they got the 1º and 2º to kill it.........its not as easy as it was looking until today morning.......but its well deserved......
p.s. i really likes to see the teamwork between the ryans....classy !!!!...and the hats thing of rv2 on the podim during the national anthem.........respect...!!!!!!!
It was fair and square.
That said, you can't know for sure that Pourcel "had nothing" for Villopoto in the 3rd race : he had passed Dungey with ease, was still very close from Villopoto, who got stuck in a corner a few laps later...
In the meantime, Pourcel's rear tire went off the rim (with a mousse, which just NEVER happens in theory), so he went from a potential race leader to a DNF, costing France 11 points (and a potential MXDN win), right there.
Also, to be noted is that both Ryan's have been passed by Roczen at some point, by Bobryshev also (and Dungey by Pourcel, as noted above this).
So, once again, late in the day, before the 3rd moto, USA seemed in great danger... but still pulled it out with a mix of great speed, strong mental and a bit of good fortune.
In any sport, that's what separate the "Best" from the "Good".
