Man that sucks, sorry to hear about that, Hope he heals up quick.
The year we rode for Slaton Racing a few years back I remember him coming up short on a huge triple ( at 1 of the Anaheim's I believe) and pretty sure that ended in a broken femur as well.

How did it happen? Mechanical failure?

Beyond blessed that I am not hurt worse. Had one of the scariest crashes of my life today. 3rd gear pinned and another rider hit the brakes and turned into my line on the face of the jump. Drilled him and threw me off my bike. Flew about 60 feet without my bike at about 40 mph. Femur is destroyed. Already had 1 surgery. 2nd one is tomorrow. The guy I hit had no idea I was coming up his right side. Not mad at him at all. Just bad luck. Thank you @kendo819 and @milespayne for taking care of my stuff. Long recovery ahead. Probably time to stop riding. 2 shattered feet in 04, no ACLs in my knees, and now a rod in both femurs. Its hard to give up something you love and have been doing for 28 years. But I gotta take care of my family. Time to wisen up.

dang still has a rod in the femur still? I broke mine a few years ago. best this ever was getting it removed.

Time to hit the woods. Hope he gets the good meds.
