I don't know how old this article is, but it's interesting none the less. might give 2-stroke lovers a little light at the end of the tunnel...

I like this part, "What I do know is that the new, clean two-stroke engines of today outperform the four-strokes in almost every category of performance with less weight and fewer complex, moving parts. "

My buddy got one of those last season - a 600 twin. I almost did, but money kinda tightened up.

Those are sweet powerplants. Start right up from cold with half a pull on the cord (if you don't have E-start), no smoke, silky smooth, lots of power and easier on gas than the 4 strokes. Dealers have been starting them in the showroom to demo the cleanliness.

FI is so last century....

KTM has had a DI-2 prototype for yrs. Yet are bringing out the 350Fs which bet will be popular.

Yamaha has DI-2 boat motors. Bombadier, Mercury have DI-2 Boat motors. Cal Air Resources Board had given numerous awards for DI 2 technology and it's lack of pollutants..

Yet, unless the Fed go wacko with climate change/air pollution, don't hold your breath for a DI-2 stroke racer.

Husky has a 125 street DI-2 bike overseas..
