Sure the TV package for SX is decent this upcoming year (I'm being forgiving given the fact 6 races won't be live which is pretty much unacceptable in every other sport) but we will have a total of 11 live, I believe, and of course with the Nationals we get to work our remotes and dvrs to death in HOPES of getting all 4 motosfor 12 rounds but in addition to expanded TV coverage what we also need is a the return of the audio webcast Jim Holley on SX and Tim Cotter for MX. They are at every event and the races (outdoors at least) are still being called so why not let the fans here it. Pacesupercross.com back in the day was incredible and yes, though I love watching each race, I still miss the audio especially with all the pre-race and post race coverage. Something we do not get at all on TV. We get some via the web but not like it was with the webcasts.

Our sport NEEDS more coverage. This would be a good way to bring back what was an excellent source for years. And yes, I'm sure the numbers dropped when the subscription fees came out but I would imagine with the growth of the sport that a subscription fee would pay off now. I know Youthstream does pretty well with their TV subscription. I bought the SX subscription a while back and have never spent money more wisely. This would also be an excellent vehicle for Supercross/Motocross on Sirius.

So to all on Vital or any one who knows anyone with clout or has clout...please encourage this and support this. Almost all sports have radio and TV coverage.....even high school sports in a lot of cases....except ours. we need it back. Please help and please support.

Thanks everyone!

I wish! Sad to say, but it is not going to happen, and it bums me out big time. Those webcasts were often more exciting than the TV broadcasts! Weege and Holley never missed a beat, and gave us so much more.

I remember listening to them and being so pumped to see it on TV the next day, only to be disappointed that the TV show did not even come close to living up to the excitement of Weege and Jimbo.

How about we bring Weege and Holley into the TV booth? and that is yet another "not going to happen"

I actually can safely say that I enjoyed the audio webcasts with Damiani/Holley and Weege and Holley and Tim Cotter's crew actually more than watching the broadcasts on TV. The amount of coverage was incredible. Although I did love Art Eckman. Best TV commentator ever, in my book.

OC, I'm glad you agree but why do you think this would never happen. Nearly all sports have radio coverage and I think since they took it away from us that more people would actually purchase the subscription now since they probably miss that enhanced coverage.

Just wondering. Glad I'm not alone.

Dude.......are you Tim Cotters brother in law or cousin or something?
This is like the 10th thread you have started talking about the awesomeness that is Tim Cotter.......lol.

We get it, you like Tim, I think he does a great job too but jeez man.....back down the man love a little.
And he didn't do the last audio commentary. That was Holley and Jason Weigandt.

The reason all other sports have radio coverage is because there are radio stations that cover baseball and football year round.....who have ad revenue to support them.

And the reason it went away is because there was probably only a few folks that paid to subscribe......I was one of them.
The problem is the thousands of people that couldn't come up with a couple bucks and instead stole the signal or otherwise complained about having to pay.

I thought the audio-cast was great but this "give me everything for free" society we live in makes it a long shot to come back.

There has never been an AMA motocross or supercross championship that deserved an asterisk and there never will be. - RandyS

I came to the realization that they don't want to bring it back.
I even laid it out on here in the past how they could have had it free and used content locker type advertising ect...to make a decent amount of money from it. I believe some folks even sent it to them. I never seen them ever try anything out of them norm as to trying to make it work from a online marketing perspective and monetize the traffic. It really baffled me.They went straight to a pay only webcast & then canned it.

Others also had some good ideas...

In the end....I guess the way they seen it is - it hurt their television package more then it helped it and wasn't worth the hassle. They went more in the direction of live TV.

LOL, no dude..i'm not Cotter's cousin or something. I just really enjoyed the radio calls and miss it in our sport. I like Ralph, Fro, RC and everything but the telecasts these days sure don't have what it used to with Eckman, Bailey and especially with Holley and Weege and the live call at the Nationals.

But on the bright side it is better than a few of the commentators we have had in between then and now.

You can webcast with iphone these days. Someone that goes to all the rounds could do their own commentary.
Not sure how the broadcast rights would play into that.

The webcasts are long dead and gone. Why do people have to continually open up this old wound? No one misses the webcasts as much as me, but lets move on now shall we??

The webcasts were the best.

I dont think I can survive another year of Ralph.
