Just wondered if any of you fine people have tried one for motocross and what was your views. I'm helping a young kid out this season and he is racing a CRF 450 . We fit a Rekluse clutch to it last week and he is training tomorrow.

Thanks, we are in a small place here and nobody that races locally has one so I'm hoping it will help a bit. At least no stalling so that has to be a plus

It is one of the best things you can do to your bike.

I personally would have a lot more trophies if I had one. Nothing like blowing a huge lead because on lap 5 you come to a complete stop to make your fingers pull the clutch in on berms you were just railing the first four laps. I have ridden a bike with it and it was really cool. Start it put in gear and sit there on the brake with out holding clutch. Crazy. I swore I would have one on my 15 but I ended up paying more than I had expected for the bike. Soon though.

I have them on all my race bikes. I think they are like cheating. Don't cheapen out, buy the core 3.0, it works awesome and if nothing else, keeps the bike from stalling. I think they work best at the end of a long hard moto when your hanging on for dear life. You won"t be sorry and if you are, you can return it withing 30 days i think.

Do you need to but the basket and pressure plate or can you just buy the "kit" that has the friction plates and springs etc.and use the OEM PP and basket..

Looks like there are two ways to go... or am I mistaken?

I have raced with one since 2008 and have won 3 championships with it. I won't voluntarily race without one. They are awesome.

I bought the core 3.0 for my 15 350 and love every ride with it. Its helped me improve my technique by alowing me to use a little more brain power on my riding instead of thinking about the clutch.

One of the best things i think is that if you want to race aggressively with the clutch you can, if you want to ride auto you can.....both ways work great......but again don't just buy the cheapest option......it DOES NOT work as well. The clutch is way harder and tight and it pulses when you pull it in, the core 3.0 works like butter.

Never sell a bike with one in it, you won't get much more for it. pull it out and ebay it, they sell like hotcakes on there. You can get 70% of your money back if its not roached.

I have the cheaper version and agree about the harder clutch pull. Next time I'll get the Core 3.0.

I have just the part that goes in the clutch and I used the springs it came with also. Everything else is stock. Mine works great and does not "pulse" or anything like that. It is a tad harder to pull, but it doesn't bother me at all.

I have one in my CRF450 and I never, ever use it as an automatic clutch.. I use the clutch lever like a regular clutch. Clutch pull is essentially close to stock. What it does for me is it takes a lot of stress off my arms, particularly when landing from jumps with a corner after it, because of the lack of engine braking trying to throw you forward. Lack of engine braking also makes my corner entries faster and thirdly, it lays down the power very smoothly when exiting corners.. always just enough power to the ground to pick up the front wheel 2". And fourthly, you can be off a gear too high and it still pulls decent. Great technology for 4 strokes. Use the springs that will let it freewheel the most. Change your tranny oil a little more often.
