I was hoping for an alloy tanked mid-80s KX80 or something, I'd be all over that.

That's what I was expecting as well. But...that is a cool looking bike. Looks like a lot of fun. Fun that could get you into trouble lol.

Are these fun to ride? Is it more powerful once he engine is placed into the lighter frame?

Forgive my ignorance to this particular topic.

I have one of our spare YZ85 frames sitting in my shop with an XR100 motor tacked in right now. I need to track down a tubing bender to finish the front cradle and get it ready to ride. Problem is a decent bender cost more than I will have into the bike and I really don't have a use other than this project.............Those DMC ones are trick..............

Some of the most fun I have ever had was on a TTR 125 with a bunch of adults on similar sized bikes and a small sized moto track.

The xr100/cr85 conversions built by DMC are definitely the best ones out there. Cool find.

I built one right before 150Rs came out. Bought a CR85 expert & sent the frame to Dave at DMC. Came with everything needed except an XR100 motor. I put in a cam, high compression piston, bigger carb and used a mildly ported head. I only rode it a few times. It was so slow. I thought my dead stock XR100 was more fun because the power felt like it fit the chassis. It was hard to sell too, I had to ship it. Spent 3k total on it, (DMC's work was $1500) sold it for $1800 I think. I bought a 150R shortly after. Installed a cam & header both for low end. So much better...conversions are cool though! Here's mine:

I had the privledge of getting to spin some laps on Kyle Coen's team mates bikes. Full custom BBR 150 back in about 04-05 ( BBR used to bring down a whole mob of guys for the couple events we had ). We had a couple really huge pit bike events there. Man that was a really fun little bike and way faster than a stock Honda 150. Until GuyB posted the pick of the DMC , I had never seen one of those before....I think.

Which reminds me......saw a guy I know very well , that posts here that went out and smoked everyone in the pro class on a 110 that was worth about 1/10th the price as those modded BBR 110's........Goes by the name of MX216 on here. The Peick's probably know him. Smile
