My son's brand new 2016 250f yamaha blew up with less than 5 hours on it so in order to make it to regionals my husband and son was switching pipe and other things over to the 2016 250f practice bike with 21 hours and found a huge Crack in the frame. Thanks Yamaha hope we can make at least one bike out of the two for the regionals

My nephew cracked 3 last year and one this year. At first Yamaha was ambivalent, but there were enough broken frames all on the same side that it was obviously a cold weld issue. Thanks to the internet we were able to compile a list of serial numbers. Eventually they honored them all and replaced the frames. You can see pics and a thread on Thumpertalk. Good luck.

I wouldn't count on it. My brother had a new 250 that locked up with 2 hours on it. Told him good luck with it. You want someone to stand behind their bikes switch to KTM.
