Any landscapers out there? Black dirt. Clean fill. How much does it cost to buy and what does it cost to transport?
The tracks and quality of dirt is really lacking. Most guys practice on better tracks/surfaces than they race on. Why?

I believe they use the same dirt every year at each venue. They store it somewhere close to the stadiums.

Houston SX dirt is great every year, probably from all of the horse and cow shit in it from the rodeo that's usually right after the SX!!

i dont know U.S. prices but i do know that in Mexico if you haul the dirt for more than 50 miles you will end up paying more for the freight than the dirt itself.

my best guess is those cat trucks are hauling in 30 yards at a time. at 550 trucks.... alot of dirt.

That would explain it. Thanks. Spoiled with black loam and sand my entire life. Poor pro's.

So 550 truck loads at $500 a pull for tonights dirt? So up front investment $275,000. Guess we are going to see this dirt in LA for the next 75 years.

Just wondering about other motorsports spending over 20 million dollars on a racing surface that hosts 2 rounds per year. The track itself is the 21st man on the gate. 50% of this sport is the quality of the track. Why does this not matter?

The majority of the dirt used for the supercross is bought and stored for re-use. Trucking cost, and the equipment package rental is the big cost.

the trucks they are using to haul into stadiums are hauling more than 12 yards.

and if its 550 loads like that.... wow
then add all the workers and signs/tuff blocks/pyro stuff etc. supercross isnt cheap to put on.
